It is a remarkably made cigar that has a rich, brown colored Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. The history of the company behind Trinidad cigars starts back in 1918 with Julius Lichtenstein. He was the President of American Sumatra Tobacco Co. Julius Lichtenstein, along with six other independent cigar manufactures, formed Consolidated Cigar Corporation in 1921. They went on to acquire other companies, as well as going through a few acquisitions themselves. One of their acquisitions was in 1926, when they purchased GHP Cigar Company. GHP manufactured the cigar brand, El Producto. Actor and comedian, George Burns was the promoter of the El Producto cigar for years. Even after he was done being the promoter, he was never seen or photographed without his favorite El Producto. In 1945, Alfred Siberman became President of Consolidated. Three years later, after his passing, his son, Samuel Siberman took over the company. Despite it all, Consolidated continued to grow and establish itself in the cigar world. Mr. Siberman knew what it took to keep the company thriving and competing. In 1968, Gulf & Western bought Consolidated. Over the years, there were more acquisitions that took place, but none as formidable as the purchase by SEITA. Consolidated was purchased by SEITA in January 1999. Then they merged with Tabacalera, S.A. and formed ALTADIS, S.A. The last merger with Imperial Tobacco in the U.K. was in 2008. This final merger established ALTADIS as the world’s largest tobacco manufacturer. They continue to have production facilities in Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Honduras.

Anyone that enjoys the Trinidad TTT will also enjoy the range of flavors you will journey through while smoking this fine cigar. It is firmly packed with no soft spots. The draw is flawless. In the first third, it starts off very bold, with a cocoa and woody flavor. There are also some peppery notes. Into the second third, the cocoa and woody flavors that were there in the beginning are still present, but a taste of cedar is becoming pronounced. Notes of coffee and leather are in the background. The peppery notes that were noticeable in the first third are fading at this point. In the final third, the cedar flavors are most prominent. The woody notes that were first noticeable return, and blend nicely with the leather and spice that are also present. The burn was even, and self corrected when it got a bit wobbly. The ash held together nicely and produced a fair amount of smoke. The Trinidad TTT can be enjoyed at any time of day, even with its complexity.
