My niece was born a short while ago, and I was honoured to be present at her birth. My brother-in-law was working abroad when my sister went into labour and I was allowed to remain with her throughout. While shopping, it is important to remember to not just buy clothes based on appearance. The clothes must also be comfortable, otherwise baby will be restless. Because of this I started shunning the big high street shops with their mass-produced designs that were made with cost rather than comfort in mind. It is pleasing to see designers pushing the boundaries when it comes to design adn they are playing around with clothes made from example, soybean fibre. In case you haven\’t come across this, it is a by-product of tofu and soymilk production. I also found a designer that produced fun clothing while being comfortable and their products were a must by.

Babies also look great in clothes made from denim. Well we know that – that\’s why we all choose it for our casual wear. The moment babies start crawling, I think they should all be kitted out in denim jeans. Practical for baby and stops mum from tearing her hair out.

Of course, even though I love the eco friendly fabrics like bamboo, I won\’t shun traditional fabrics. I bought the cutest playsuits with applique frog designs on the front and pretty cotton knit cardigans to slip on when it got chilly because I just couldn\’t resist the playful designs.

While a baby, is not that bothered about looking fashionable, I still think we must make them feel great by dressing them in great clothes. Well designed clothes that are comfortable are the perfect way to let baby\’s personality shine through. And it\’s always nice to make heads turn in appreciation, whether you are six months old or sixty years!
