There are different rebar sizes that can help determine how a certain structure should be drawn. The size of the rebar sticks can be measured using Metric sizes or Imperial sizes. The metric method represents the diameter of the rebar in millimetres, rounding it up to the nearest 5mm. On the other hand, the imperial size method represents the diameter in terms of fractions.

Rebar sticks are also identified by their different grades. These grades vary for different rebar sticks in terms of absolute strength, tensile strength, elongation and chemical composition. The grade of a rebar is actually the same minimum measurement of the absolute strength of the metal. The grades are measured in ksi.

A rebar detailer or reinforcement fabricator cannot go on with this kind of work with only the skill of structure CAD drafting or structural engineering. This is just not enough because there are also other factors to consider like rebar grades, sizes and specifications. The detailer also needs to have the experience and enough knowledge to create detailed drawings.
