Choosing a Wedding Dress For Summer
A beautiful summer day with clear skies and sunshine can make for a perfect day for two people who are deeply in love to start a new beginning with each other. Many brides feel that the wedding dress is one of the most important aspects of the day. This is why they take a lot of time to consider the different options available to them before they choose out their most perfect wedding dress. There are a lot of things to consider when choosing the wedding dress for a summer wedding.
Type of Material
One of the biggest areas of consideration would be the material that the wedding dress is made out of. A major factor when considering this is the climate that the wedding will be held in. Perhaps a traditional wedding dress that has a lot of heavy layers will not be the best choice because it will simply be too hot. Summer brides have a lot of options to choose from that may result in them having a light and airy wedding dress. The most important thing is that the bride is comfortable on her special day.
A summer wedding dress should be comfortable and cool. Cotton is a good choice because it is always in style and it is a breathable material. A white cotton dress can be very flattering during a summer ceremony. If the bride desires a more upscale look, however, then perhaps a silk dress would be the right choice for her. Silk is lightweight and versatile and therefore makes for a beautiful summer wedding dress.
If the Dress Fits
Most summer brides will want a wedding dress that will move with them and that will allow air flow to keep them cool. Some brides opt to go for the strapless or spaghetti strap dresses for this reason. However, for brides that do not wish to bare their shoulders and backs, they can choose a wedding dress that has short sleeves. The main thing is to stay away from is long sleeves, as they will keep in the heat instead of allowing the bride to be comfortable and cool.
Choosing the Color
The traditional crisp white wedding dress will look cool and refreshing on a bright summer day, however, some brides may choose to vary from the traditional. Some colors to take into consideration may include an ivory or cream wedding dress. There is also the choice of accenting the wedding dress with other colors, such as gold or silver. Pale pink undertones, or even pale blue undertones, may compliment the summer theme.
Choosing the Embellishments
If the bride wants vintage wedding jewellery to go on her wedding dress, then she should choose ones that are lightweight so it will not weigh the dress down. A few examples of this may include beads or lace. Beads can be embroidered on the dresses bodice or skirt and they will compliment the dress when they are caught in the bright summer sun. Lace can overlay the wedding dress which will give it an elegant and traditional look, without the compromise of having heavy layers.
