The Amazing And Surprising Future Of Robots

Recently Microsoft founder Bill Gates surprised the world by stating robotics will be the largest and most important industry globally in just 20 years.

Right now we\’re seeing a huge up tick in the development and use of robots. These mechanical marvels are already playing a big role in industry from building today\’s automobiles to brewing beer. Soon robots will invade homes to perform many of the tasks that now take up your evenings and days off.

Robotics combines the disciplines of electronics, engineering, mechanics, and software. Robotics can be rather simple or incredibly complex. This presents a remarkable learning opportunity for students of all ages.

There are now more than 15,000 children\’s robotics teams spanning 50 countries. Similarly, most High Schools and Colleges have large robotics clubs that do amazing work. Their robots know no bounds and are often quite creative, accomplishing important tasks in brilliant ways.

I\’m especially looking forward to National Robotics Week April 9-17. Each year this special week features more than 50 events and includes 46,000 people.

This year we\’re seeing robots at MIT and other labs who can walk. While walking is natural to humans, it\’s very difficult to achieve with a robot. Walking robots are now being designed that could take the place of a soldier in combat or perform rescue operations in environments too dangerous for humans.

Robots are being used extensively for rescue and rebuilding in earthquake ravaged Japan. Robots work where humans can\’t.

The \”Holy Grail\” of robotics is the area of Artificial Intelligence. Some of the smartest scientists in the world are hard at work making robots that can think and reason.

Keep in mind Artificial Intelligence is primitive at this point, but some futurists believe robots will eventually be able to think as well or even better than humans. Robots may well solve major problems we humans can\’t easily accomplish.

Right now there is a HUGE emphasis on robotic kits and robot toys. These fascinating products let ANYONE get involved in robotics. And you don\’t have to spend a lot to get started.

Robotic kits are easy to build, educational, and very fun. They let anyone get fully involved with robotics without having to get venture capital or a PhD in engineering.

Just as important, robotic kits let young people learn about robot design and operation early on. In coming years robots will increasingly do simple and menial jobs in the workplace. Individuals who know how to design, operate, and maintain robots will have terrific jobs in the near future.

Some of the hottest items in personal robotics are Solar Robotic Kits. These robots get their power from the sun. You can get Solar Robotic Kits designed for beginners or for intermediate and advanced.

The \”easy\” robots can be snapped together and working within minutes. One favorite is the Solar Frightened Grasshopper Kit. This robot insect sways, wiggles, does the jitterbug, all with eyes jiggling.

Robotics is the best fun around. So jump in and bring robots to your home. You\’ll be leading the charge as our world heads into a bright future where robots play a big role in everyday life.
