If you are a homeowner chances are fairly good that sometime during your home ownership you could likely get mold in your home. Do have some eye protection when cleaning and it is suggested that you wear some clothing that you can remove immediately after cleaning and put them in the washer.

There are many areas where it will grow and there are just as many ways to clean the different areas with this stuff growing. Some areas needing cleaned like counter tops or plastic or glass can be cleaned with a non ammonia type detergent by scrubbing vigorously.

Remember that all surfaces are not alike and the porous surfaces such as drywall or carpet can not be clean completely so they should be discarded just to be safe. Scrubbing does not remove it completely from things like wood. These type items may need to be sanded and you should make sure you wear protective gear before you attempt this.

If you see some starting to grow many folks say that a good solution for wiping down should be a mixture of water and a bleach and it is usually mixed about one quarter cup bleach to one gallon of water. Never mix ammonia and bleach for this mixture is very toxic.
