Auditions For Disney Channel
Most stars usually begin their careers by auditioning for Disney Channel. Many a times musicians, actors/actresses, song writers have used this platform as an opportunity to be recognized as they prepare themselves to reach even wider audiences later in their career.
Here are a few things to consider before availing yourself for the auditions;
1. Pre-send to them a video demonstrating your talent. Make sure your video is of good quality and shows exactly what you want to put across to the panel. Avoid showing details that are unnecessary as they would only be time consuming to the reviewer who has a lot of similar videos from other competitors. If there are specifications as to how the videos are to be recorded, make sure you adhere to them. The video will tell them a lot about what they should expect from you once you meet face to face; it is therefore advisable to give it your best shot.
2. Do a lot of practice. The more you train, the more you’ll identify your weak spots and work towards improving them. Remember that you are not the only competitor at the auditions; therefore, errors would not be accepted. Most likely you’ll be tested on a wide range of areas such as vocals, mono tones and body movements. You’ll have to do practice in all these areas.
3. Meet and submit the standard requirements on time. There are diverse categories of specialization in Disney Channel; and each category has got its own set of minimum requirements which are mandatory. These categories include actors, dancers, singers, musicians, stunt performers, Disney Channel look alike and character performers, bands specialty acts and other varieties.
4. Have a keen eye on the auditions calendar. This will help you identify locations near you where auditions would be done, and also their specific dates.
5. Photos and resume. Make sure the person who appears in the photo you send to them is the same person they’ll see at the auditions. Avoid putting too much make up on your face for photo shoots or using pictures that are too old. Also make sure you check what kind of photos they require and attach your resume together with the photos.
6. Always strive to come earlier. Arrive at least fifteen minutes before schedule as this would give you ample time to prepare. Late coming, no matter the reason, can short change you for another competitor who happened to arrive before you. Worse still, your appointment can be cancelled altogether .
Once you arrive at the Disney centre, you’ll find a checking place where you’ll be required to avail your documents for recording; your details will also be taken. Again, this takes time and it’s another reason why it’s advisable to show up early for the auditions. If you are travelling to a place new to you, plan wisely your travel time and start earlier than usual. This is because it may take you extra time to find the exact location of the audition site; the probability of getting lost and asking for directions is also high.
Stepping into the audition room can be quite scary, especially if you have never been to any other audition in your life. Remember to always compose yourself and wait for instructions from the casting director. Don’t try to do anything before you are given the go ahead.
