New Technology Acquired by Langley Invisalign Provider
Langley, BC – Today, orthodontic patients are fortunate to profit from research that is always enhancing the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment – and improving the patient\’s experience. Dr. Aly Kanani, a Langley Invisalign expert, has benefitted from these recent developments by acquiring technology from Cadent, Inc.
The new programs are components of Cadent\’s cutting edge iTiero system: the IQ system, the IOC scanner, and the iCast program. \”This technology will really enhance patient treatment in my practice,\” explains Kanani, a Langley, BC braces specialist. \”Since it allows for improved accuracy in braces\’ design, the equipment diminishes treatment time and the required number of orthodontist’s visits.\”
Customarily, initial placement appointments can be as long as two hours. However, the IQ system significantly decreases that time, observes the Langley, BC invisible braces expert. With IQ, the orthodontist simulates treatments before positioning the brackets, in essence seeing the results before treatment even begins. With the system, brackets get placed digitally and arranged in plastic holders that are like retainers. During the first appointment, the doctor slides the plastic holder onto the patient\’s teeth. After the glue has set in 15 minutes, the orthodontist can remove the plastic holder so that the optimally placed brackets are left behind. The only other step is adding the wires.
The improved treatment necessitates fewer adjustment visits, so the patient finds the braces to be more comfortable. IQ can also diminish total treatment time by as much as 30 percent and thus reduce the treatment cost, says Kanani, a Langley orthodontist. Digital simulations let the patient view how the teeth will appear once treatment is finished.
Kanani\’s IOC scanner – the only one of its kind in Surrey and Langley, BC – scans each patient’s teeth and creates an extremely accurate digital model. It scans the contours of the teeth and gums, providing a digital scan in a few minutes – without necessitating invasive procedures. Because it starts off with a more precise model, the scanner lets the orthodontist provide superior treatment.
The iCast system permits the orthodontist to replace the customary plaster cast with a far more accurate and flexible digital version. The iCast program makes it easy to store, retrieve, and share patient data – without the downsides of plaster casts. In the digital environment, the doctor can make alterations to the virtual model and acquire information using a broad range of diagnostic tools. The system also lets an orthodontist review a patient\’s model anywhere at any time from any computer in the world – and confers with other healthcare providers. \”The iCast system also permits you to take home a paper version of your digital 3D model – illustrating what your teeth will look like after treatment,\” observes Kanani, a Langley orthodontics specialist.
