Spending Your Staycation
As a working parent, it is important to spend time with kids so that you can keep track of their growth and development. If you want to spend time with your family, you can file for leave or what they commonly refer to as staycation. Use this time to bond with your kids, you may never know but the time you spend with them no matter how little can contribute to their overall development.
Given these facts, you should think of activities on how to spend your staycations effectively and memorably. If you want to spend quality time with your kids on your staycation, there are many activities to achieve such. With these activities, for sure you will ask an extension of your staycation. You can choose to design your own activities as long as it is fun but if you want to look for general things that kids enjoy, you can try the following outdoor activities:
1. Swimming- you can teach your kid how to swim and for sure they can swim any current in the future.
2. Picnics- you can bring foods on parks together with the whole family. This will make the bond stronger.
3. Trekking- if you want to instill appreciation to your kid, nothing beats showing them the world. For sure your kids will literally stop to smell the flowers.
4. Beach- beaches have soothing and calming effect; if you want your kid to feel the effect, drive to the nearest beach.
5. Camping- if you want to teach your kid survival 101, this is the best activity for you and your kid. At the end of camping, for sure your kids can learn how to light a fire using stones and looking for foods with bare hands.
6. Biking- this will strengthen the body of your kid. Aside from that, they will surely enjoy the ride.
7. Kiting- this activity can surely stimulate your kid’s imagination and creativity. Flying your own work is fulfilling, your kids will enjoy the feeling.
8. Fishing- if you want to teach your kid the value of patience, this is the best activity. Aside from learning the value, they will surely learn how to fish for food.
9. Bird watching- if your kids are interested on birds, invite them to watch birds fly. Be reminded to bring along binoculars.
10. Sky gazing- your kid will probably get excited if you mention sky gazing. Bring your telescopes so that they can see the stars as well as the moon
There you go. With the mentioned activities, for sure entertaining your kids will work out fine. There will really come a time that you would want to extend your staycations to be with your kids and your family in general. Of course to make these activities worthwhile, you should look for materials that will contribute to its success. Materials such as waiting room toys, kids furniture, tents, bikes, kites, foods, binoculars, telescope and the like should be provided. The great news is that these materials are not that expensive and not to mention they can easily be found on stores near you. Have fun there and may you have longer days with your kids!
