Using Spider Insecticides And Repellents
Contrary to popular belief, most spiders are harmless. Many species of spiders are household pests that people want to rid their homes of quickly and completely. Using spider insecticide is an effective way of spider control and therefore keeping your house spider free.
There are many different types of spider insecticide products to choose from. Before buying a spider repellent determine the types of spiders that you are trying to repel from your house of, and then where the spiders are breeding. These are key factors in ridding your dwelling of these pests and choosing the right product for the job.
Let’s first discuss the actual types of spiders. Unlike most insects, spiders have 8 legs, not 6. This feature makes them immediately distinguishable from other insects. Their bodies have two regions. These are the cephalothoraxes (fused head and thorax) and an abdomen. All spiders have a pair of jaw like structures called chelicerae. At the end of each of these is a claw like fang.
Each fang has an opening in the end through which venom is injected into the prey. Spinnerets are located at the tip end of the abdomen which are silk spinning glands used for web making. Regardless of whether you are trying to rid your house of spiders to avoid being bitten, or because of their annoying ability to leave a mess of cobwebs, the decision to get rid of them using spider insecticide is a good choice.
All spiders use venom to kill their prey, however there are only two species of spiders that are harmful to humans. These species are the black widow and the brown recluse, which are commonly found in North America. However you should take care of all spider bite victims, and when possible, take the spider specimen to the physician when taking the victim.
Many spiders are associated with moisture and are often found in basements, crawl spaces, or other damp areas. Some however, do live in dry spaces such as sub floor air vents, upper corners of rooms, attics, and darkened areas. Beneficial in the outdoors because they kill off other pesky insects, the spider is a creature that many of us are eager to remove.
Outdoor treatment is also necessary to keep the spiders from coming inside. There are different types of spider insecticide that are beneficial to certain areas of the house. Some spider repellent may be applied to a dry, dark area, while others are useful in wet areas. Determine which type you need before purchasing.
When removing spider webs it is also important to remove spider sacs and eggs. Spray the area to be treated first. Then allow the area to dry completely and remove the webs and sacs. You can use a web duster for hard to reach areas. You should wear protective clothing if you are entering an area of poisonous spiders’ habitat, and protective eyewear should be used when removing any types of webs, or administering the sprays. Read all warning labels and follow all directions when using spider insecticide.
Even though there are only two types of dangerous spiders who dwell in North America, spiders can become a pesky problem because of their annoying webs. Careful destruction of spiders and webs using spider insecticide can make your environment safe.
