How to Get Rid of Smelly Critters

Insects get everywhere because of their small size and with the tiny cracks in your home; it is even easier for them to intrude. Some of them are easy to get rid of, but a stink bug can create some major problems; the name says it all. The first thing you can do to get rid of stink bugs is to seal up any cracks or holes on the exterior of your home. This will obviously not get rid of the insects that could already be inside, but it could prevent more from getting in and make it easier to rid of them.

Once you have gone around your home from the outside and made sure that all of the holes and cracks are sealed, you should check your windows to make sure that there are no holes in the screens and you can do the same with doors if you have a screen door. You cannot possibly patch up every single crack or hole. Since insects are so small, they can usually find places to get in so if you patch up the biggest ones, your problem should not be as bad. It is nice to have windows open in the spring, but you have to make sure that all of the screens are in good shape so that the pests do not come into your home and multiply.

These smelly pests are most attracted to bright areas in the sun so the side of your house that gets the most contact from the sun will be the side that you will have to watch very closely. Most of the time, these little critters will hibernate and burrow themselves into a cold and dark area. Although they bury themselves in dark areas, they still are attracted to light so if you are looking for them, then this is where you will find them.

Most people notice that they have these critters in their homes when they smell something that is a little off. Some people think they smell like garbage and others have said that they smell like rotten cheese. Either way, if you smell something weird in your home, you could have these critters hiding somewhere. You could call an exterminator, but there are ways to get rid of them on your own. First, you must locate where they are hiding and then you can vacuum them up, dead or alive, and throw away the vacuum bag, or you can sweep them up and throw them away.

Each different type of insect has its own characteristics and it is harder to get rid of some more than others. These critters have a foul smell which makes them hard to live with, but they are fairly easy to get rid of. All you have to do is find them, vacuum them up or throw them away and patch up cracks and holes so that they do not come back. This is a fairly easy process to do on your own without having to hire a professional.
