How to Throw a Safe Pool Party This Summer Season

A pool party is so called for this swimming season. Without doubt, a pool party will be a fun way to welcome the much anticipated summer time. But summer can be ruined by one, devastating thing. Such a thing is called drowning. As we know, as it serves to be a common knowledge to all, drowning is one of the leading causes of death in the US at the midst of the summer sun. As a host of your upcoming pool party, you have the responsibility to sponsor a safe and cautious one. It can be a daunting task but it is doable. Here’s how you can pull it off:

1. Pull yourself together. Hosting a pool party is really not easy. You have to have an appropriate mind set before you embark on this task.

2. Sit in front of your computer and go to your Microsoft word. The idea is to make safety signs for your pool party. Such signs are:

– NO DIVING
– KIDS SWIMMING WITHOUT A GUARDIAN IS PROHIBITTED
– KIDS SWIMMING IN THE POOL WIHTOUT A LIFE BUOY IS PROHIBITED
– NO RUNNING ON THE SIDES OF THE POOL
– NO EATING AND DRINKING IN THE WATER

These signs will pave the way for safety for both kids and adults that will attend your pool party.

NOTE: Some people might be offended by these rules and signs because they might feel that you are restraining them. Well, this is true. All you have to do is to explain that all the rules and signs are for their safety. You will surely give them the guilt trip with that one! Just kidding!

3. You have to put indications and big signs as to how deep your pool water is. Some kids tend to venture out to the deeper side of pools. This is not safe. One of the reasons of drowning is within the children themselves. Kids often want to boast their swimming skills, or simply they just want to penetrate deeper waters. You can stop this by creating big signs out of card boards that says “You are now entering 5 ft.” and such. Another great tip is to literally tie a red yarn from opposite sides of the pool so that all will know the depth of the water where each strand goes.

4. Another cause of drowning is parent or guardian negligence. So it has been a while since you last saw your friend. You try to catch up as your kids swim along the pool. Well, most likely, no one will be watching your kids as they swim. Opt to hire a professional life guard so that at least one adult will be looking after the kids. DO NOT SUFFER FROM THE “IF ONLYs” . “If only I had been looking after my son.” DO NOT BE ONE OF THESE PARENTS AND GUARDIANS. A life guard can be an investment but a very worthwhile investment it will be indeed! Plus, you are responsible for other kids that will attend your pool party. You have a big accountability on your shoulders my friend.

A pool party is so much fun, but no pool party should be without safety. Follow these steps for a fun and safe pool party for you, your kids, your friends and their kids for the summer season!
