Medical and Humanitarian Aids

Bangladesh is a densely populated country surrounded by India and the Bay of Bengal. Due to its geographical location it is prone to seasonal cyclones and catastrophic flooding. Most of the population in this country lives in rural areas that have very poor health care facilities. Most villages have high rates of malnutrition, with nearly 2 out of 3 people suffering from nutritional deficiencies. Less than one in ten children has access to proper medical care. Poor sanitation contributes to the spread of diseases in rural regions that are extremely isolated and excluded from basic medical facilities. Many rural areas in Bangladesh continue to experience unplanned and unregulated population growth with ongoing poverty and health complications where children die from preventable and treatable illnesses and adults suffer from unbearable chronic conditions.

Health care institutions that serve the poor in rural areas of the country, often lack adequate medicines and supplies to diagnose health conditions and provide life-saving treatments. These shortages occur due to economic limitations and political and administrative hindrances. To provide quality care to the poor patients, the health care institutions and health care professionals are constantly in need of medicines and medical assistance.

Many philanthropic organizations have come forward today to work for the well being of the poor and the needy through their charity work. These philanthropic organizations exist to empower the deprived people in rural areas physically, economically and educationally. They are helping the poverty stricken people in villages with their projects on education, health; income generation and vocational training.

On the medical front, the nonprofit organizations conduct regular health camps to provide necessary medical aids to sick patients who generally have no access to proper health care facilities. They have an expert medical team committed to provide quality medical care to those in need, independent of race, religion or political affiliation. In past years, they have given free treatments and life-changing surgeries by experts in the fields of orthopedic, pediatric, ophthalmology, dentistry, and general surgery. The patients are not only provided with free surgeries but also post-operative cares, checkups and medicines in the health camps. These nonprofit organizations run charity hospitals, outpatient clinics, community health centers, rehabilitation centers and homes for the elderly and disabled with a mission to serve the poor and the needy in Bangladesh.

Philanthropic organizations not only deliver medical aids but also humanitarian aids for compassionate causes, in response to humanitarian crises like natural disasters. The primary objective of these humanitarian aids is to save lives, lessen sufferings, and maintain human dignity. Many nonprofit organizations have been delivering uncountable amounts of medical humanitarian reliefs to the poor and the needy in Bangladesh to reduce their sufferings, restore health and save their lives. The nonprofit organizations have a ‘Humanitarian Aid team’ which is dedicated to assessing the needs of poor communities. Their goal is to provide sustainable resources that improve the lives of poor children and their families by providing food, medication, safe environment, emergency relief, counseling and various forms of education. As a part of their charity work, these organizations are also creating awareness through Bangladesh to prevent their lives from deaths due to arsenic poisoning.
