If you want to bring your plants indoor for the winter, then you need to be prepare them ahead of time. Check those plants that you bringing in for any insects or diseases. Bringing an insect or disease infested plant into your home will only infect other plants. Take note that there are other types of plant that could use some pruning before you bring them indoors.

Rid your patio and all of its furniture from dried leaves. Leaves have the tendency to leave stains to any surface whether it is wood or stone which can make them the surface look deteriorated. Thoroughly clean your patio from the leaves just before winter comes. This means you need to handpick those leaves that can\’t be removed by a rake or leaf blower.

Another concern for you when winter comes is your patio furniture such as your umbrellas and chaise lounges. If you plan on storing them away, then pick a good storage room with standard temperature such as a basement, garage or shed. But before you store them away, make sure that you thoroughly clean them first. Weeds will thrive even in the winter so be sure that you thoroughly rid your patio with any sort of weed. Weeds can destroy your landscaping and your other efforts in gardening. Keep in mind that you will probably have to dig deep so you can completely uproot some of the tougher weeds.
