Effective LCD Screen Cleaner

With the increasing usage of LCD screen these days, there are also a number of LCD screen cleaners available in the market today. Whichever you chose will depend entirely on you.

What do people use as an LCD screen cleaner?
Every individual and office may have different LCD screen cleaner requirement. The type of cleaning solutions to use will also be varied. Whoever owns the LCD screens will also play another factor. An individual who has two or three LCD screens may have a different approach than an advertising company housed in one of the top floors of a tall building. For one, the latter may not mind spending for the cleaning solutions to be used. Second, they will really take care of their LCD screens as it is required and important in the normal course of their business. A cleaner screen will deliver a clearer image and better computing experience, or designing experience for that matter. This is especially important in the advertising world when campaign deadlines are close and things start to become crazy. And when things are crazy, dirty and unsightly LCD screens with dust, smudges and fingerprints aren’t helping.

So, what are the recommended LCD screen cleaners?
Below are the items that you choose from, you may want to consider your requirement (how many screens do you need to clean, and how often) and the budgetary considerations. If you are on a budget and want to go green at the same time, the first two LCD screen cleaner listed below could be your best bet.

– 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and Distilled Water Solution- put the solution in a plastic spray container. The solution is to be sprayed on the microfiber cloth. Never use a regular cloth or towels as these can cause abrasion on your LCD screen. Also equally important, never apply the cleaning solution directly onto your screen. There may be connections on the sides of your screen that may be damaged when you do this.

– White Vinegar and Distilled Water Solution- Use 100 ml White Vinegar for every liter of distilled water. This is another cheap yet effective way of cleaning LCD screens. Do not use tap water as it contains minerals that may leave unsightly residue on your LCD screen.

– Commercial Cleaning Solutions- you can check these out at most office supplies and computer or electronic stores. Prices differ according to brand. These normally come with a cloth to be used in wiping the screens. Again, no pressure is required as the cleaning solution will do the job of cleaning LCD screens and not your hand or fingers.

TIPS:
– Always use a microfiber cloth whichever cleaning solution you decide to use. Microfiber cloth is friendly to your LCD screen and won’t cause any scratch or abrasion.

– Do not use paper towels or tissue. These contain wood fibers that are harsh and can damage the thin film on your LCD screen.

– Never put pressure when wiping the LCD screen as this may damage the outer casing of your screen. Gently wipe the screen with a damp microfiber cloth and let the solution do the magic!

– Do not use commercially-prepared cleaners that have ammonia as it may be a bit too harsh for your screen.

– Ideally, you divide the microfiber cloth into two. The first half will be used when wiping the screen and the other half will be utilized when drying your LCD.

– Make sure that the surface is dry before you put the power back on your device.

– If you prefer the home-formulated LCD screen cleaner solution, keep a bottle available within your reach.
