Avoid Back Injury With Carts Wheeled by Hand

Chronic back pain can be a major issue for those who fall prey to its symptoms. Here in the US, quite a few people experience this problem each year. Back pain may be the root of dissatisfaction, lost work time and exorbitant medical debts. Although it is often the case that back pains are the result of traumatic injuries, such problems may be self-induced or due to common life stresses. When everyday stresses build up little by little, back pain may result. Perhaps, the easiest way to bring these problems on you is by carrying around heavy loads on a daily basis. Many of us haul brief cases, laptops or excessively large purses to work. Even school children can be bogged down with the weight of their book-heavy backpacks. But there is a simple way to avoid this medical issue: with hand carts. The collapsible hand cart not only removes any stress from your back, it can be conveniently stored just about anywhere.

The suitcase was formerly the heaviest load any of us had to carry on a regular basis. Because the average suitcase was put on wheels nearly thirty years ago, we should ask ourselves why ALL of our heavy loads haven’t been put on wheels by now. Before suitcases were put on wheels, many people were hauling around at least 50 pounds of luggage with them each time they traveled anywhere substantial. Carrying such a weight on a regular basis is bound to have negative effects on the back, especially in the areas around the shoulders and upper back. Back in those days, having a porter around was necessary but tipping him only increased the cost of travel.

During your trips to the airport in contemporary times, you may have noticed that even laptop bags have gained a set of wheels. Because laptops are now a tool that virtually anyone with a career is required to own, just about everyone carries one anywhere they travel. But it was not until years after laptops became an established business necessity that their carry-on bags spawned wheels. Although, it is true that laptops are quickly becoming smaller and lighter, carrying them around the airport can still be a strain on the back. The laptop bag with a shoulder strap can strain both the shoulder and the muscles of the upper back.

The backpack of today’s typical student came into being about thirty years ago as well. School-age children have quite a bit that they must take with them to class besides books, lunch, notebooks, pens, pencils and a calculator are all stored in these packs. Obviously, the average student has quite a load on his hands. Lately it is becoming more common to see students with backpacks on wheels, a feat that should surprise no one.

Looking back, we can see that it has taken quite a bit of time for manufacturers to add wheels to items that were in much need of such conveniences. Even wheeled grocery carts are a somewhat new invention. In time we are likely to see the hand cart become commonly used among those who need to carry quite a few items with them to work.
