What Are the Different Natural Pool Chemical System?
Natural pool chemicals are alternative sanitizing agents for chlorine and other chemical products used on the pool water to keep it free from germs, bacteria and harmful microorganisms. Although they are relatively new to the business of eliminating harmful elements on our pool water, they prove to be as effective as their chemical counterparts in doing a job well done.
Unlike chemical products, these natural chemicals are much safer to use on any pool water as they pose no danger to the medical condition of the swimmers. Chemical are reported to affect the physical condition of the bathers when constantly exposed to these products. A scale from minor to major problems in medical condition among bathers is noted on many studies regarding the use of chemicals on pool water. However, reducing the use of these products also endangers the health of the swimmers as harmful elements on the water such as bacteria, germs and microorganisms also bring diseases to the bathers. The solution to this problem is to shift from chlorinated pool system to the safe and effective natural pool system.
Here are some of the popular natural pools sanitizing systems available in the market:
1. Ionization – the use of different ions such as silver, copper, and zinc ion proves to be effective in eliminating harmful bacteria, germs and microorganism similar when using the aid of chemical products. Some products of this method use a combination of these ions to produce a much stronger sanitizer for swimming pool waters. What’s best of this method is that the copper and silver electrode bar that generates ion that fights off harmful substances and living organisms in your pool are chemically stable. This alone gives the pool owner as well as the swimmers a peace of mind knowing that their health is not at risk while having fun.
2. Saltwater – similar to ionization, this one uses salt instead of ions in keeping the water disinfected. Although unlike ionization, this one uses chlorine to sanitize the water though in a natural form taken from the salt through the process of electrolysis. A chlorine generator works in coordination with solar salt in order to maintain healthy pool water. Some saltwater swimming pools are self-cleaning which means that little maintenance is required.
3. Oxidation – this is also a safe way to disinfect the pool water without using chemicals to get the job done. Oxygen gas is injected into the pool water to get rid of the harmful bacteria in the pool. Not only does it sanitize the water, it also improves the quality and gives it a healthier swimming condition for the bathers. This also drastically decreases the use of chlorine on the pool water.
There are many other alternative ways in treating your pool water although these three are by far the most commonly used and most popular among the natural pool chemicals. Consult with your pool technician or with a pool expert before you shift to these methods in order to fully understand their advantages and disadvantages.
