Fencing Up What Belongs to Us

It is within human nature for most of us to want to show others which space belongs to us. Of course, for security reasons, this may be necessary anyway, but even when there is no need for tight security we still want to border our property with something smart so that others know that this is ours. With this in mind, we often look for barriers or gates etc which match the house or building and this can often add to the value of the place if it is done right. For those who want to see what is available these days, look for CT fencing, or CT fences online and see the variety of styles which are available now.

These boundary markers come in several different materials so the householder has quite a decision to make. If they want to stay all natural, then wood is the obvious answer. There are many different wood types and colors to choose from but they should tone with whatever is on the house. For example, if the main door to the house is in a deep mahogany color, then these additional fittings would look great in the same color way. Of course, they do not have to be made from mahogany, but the stain or varnish should be in this color.

Some people will just go for chain link, but this does tend to make the yard look like a prison compound if it is too high or too plain! Most people will only use chain link around the pool area where local bylaws dictate that this area has to be protected.

Some will like the plastic covered barriers which tend to last for many years and this is a good idea too if the window frames are made from similar materials. Double glazing units are usually made from hard PVC so having a barrier in a similar material will look good. The marvel of this kind of material is that it resists water, sun and any other kind of damage and only needs a wash down every now and then.

After the material is chosen, it is time to work out what style the homeowner wants. Some will like a one foot high token barrier just to make the garden look neat, while others will want something a little more substantial to keep intruders out of the place. There is also a choice between solid panels, if it is wood that is being used or the kind where people can still see between the slatted fixtures.

The top of these barriers can also be put in with some design in mind. Each panel could be curved at the top, and this is convex or concave, or the top can have a solid edge or steps cut in. It really is down to personal taste so take a look at what is available before opting to put in these fittings. Also, do not forget that some local by laws prohibit different styles so it may be wise to check this out first.
