How to Increase Your Body Weight Naturally
When people are in conversations on the subject of health, it is usually about losing weight. Yet there is a group of people that is forgotten by the mainstream and these are people who are naturally thin and skinny and who will most likely give you their last dollar if you can help them gain one or two pounds on their frail body frame. Ok, you caught me exaggerating there, but you do get my drift, right?
So if you are one of those unfortunate ones who have extremely high metabolism, you will know that gaining that extra one or two pounds is not an easy thing to do. This is because you are battling your DNA which is already programmed for you to be a hard gainer. The good news is that with a dogged determination to gain weight, it can be done in a natural way through good eating habits and weight training. However, you need to bear in mind that a great deal of patience and discipline is required for it to be successful.
It is said that if you want to increase your weight substantially, you must think, eat and do everything BIG. This means that you need think and visualize yourself big, eat big and lift big to become big.
Sure, everyone knows that you must consume more calories than you burn for your daily physical activities to increase your body weight. The problem is that many genetically thin people have a problem of eating big during meal times and some even puke when eating too much at each meal.
So be more innovative. Instead of eating three meals a day, make it six. The idea is to spread out your meals so that you can eat more. Your meals should be your same usual portion, not less although you are eating more often. By just doubling the number of times you eat a day assuming that you are eating the same portion, you are already doubling your caloric consumption.
We know that it takes 3,500 calories to make up one pound of body weight. Therefore if you consume 2,000 calories per day, henceforth you are consuming an excess of another 2,000 calories a day and as such, you should be able to gain one pound or so every two days. However, this may not be the case because of your natural higher metabolism. Still, with so many extra calories you are consuming each and every day, it will not be very difficult to see your body weight increasing week after week.
The extra calories that you are eating should come from healthy food sources such as lean meat, vegetables, fishes and good fats such as omega 3. You want to gain healthy weight such as lean muscles and not ugly body fat which can be detrimental to your health if you put on too much of the latter.
To help you to increase your weight at a faster pace, do take up a bodybuilding program. If is even better if you can hire a personal trainer to coach you on muscle building. If you cannot afford a fitness trainer, there are many programs you can find on the internet to help you to build muscles.
The reason that I suggest that you hire a fitness personal trainer or to follow a proper workout program is that because many people are wasting their precious time doing the wrong workouts or workouts that do not work and at the same time risking gym related injuries by lifting weights using the wrong forms. That is why getting expert advice is important in helping you achieve your weight gain objectives much faster and injury free so as to increase your body weight naturally.
