How to Mount & Install a Flat Screen TV
Finally got that brand new flat screen TV, but don\’t know how to mount and install it for your viewing pleasure? It\’s a lot easier than you think!! Setting it up yourself will save you good money instead of asking for installation to go along with your purchase. The benefit is saving a lot of space instead of having a huge more classic kind of tv as well as giving a focal point to wherever the TV is placed. Here are some easy steps to get you on your way to setting up that perfect home entertainment system!!
Step 1: Find some good studs/mounting brackets. This is the first step in making sure your TV is secure. Don\’t go out in buy the first ones you may see in store or online. Look to see in your instruction manual if there are some specific ones that you need to go along with the brand of your TV. This will save you a lot of headache in the beginning so that you don\’t impulsively buy studs or mounting brackets that may not work.
Step 2: Find out the type of mounting bracket you desire such as flat wall mounts, tilting mounts, and articulating wall mounts. Flat wall types normally position the TV like a portrait so that it\’s in plain view. Titling mounts have more range of motion in which you can make your television angle up or down depending on the position your sitting. The articulating is the best kind because you can work generally any kind of angle you want.
Step 3: Mark the place where you want your television to go. It\’s good to use a pencil and a ruler to equally measure the dimension to find out where to post the mounting brackets to hold your television as well as the studs to hold the TV in place. Simply screw in the studs and the mountains. This makes things easier to mark the places you want to help position the TV so it all lines up. Make sure the screws are in place properly and tighten them up as needed.
Step 4: Take the TV out and be careful to lay it flat down on some towels so you don\’t scratch up the screen. Install the second part of the mount on the back of the TV so you will be able to fasten it to the mount already positioned on the walls.
Step 5: Put the TV up to the mount and make sure you secure the position properly. When you believe that the position is straight and everything is lined up accordingly, fasten it tightly. Make sure there is no slack as far as the mounting and television is concerned
Step 6: Test the mount and tug and change the position a little bit of the television depending on your mount. Check up on it in a few hours to make sure there\’s no slipping. You can tell if there\’s any slack left if the unit starts to tilt or so without your input.
