How to Use Kegel Exercises to Cure Hemorrhoids Naturally

Kegel exercises are a very effective natural hemorrhoid cure that you can do anywhere, any time, and as often as you like. Kegel exercises prevent hemorrhoids by increasing the flow of blood to your anal muscles.

These exercises were invented in the 1940s by Dr. Arnold Kegel, a gynecologist, they help to strengthen pelvic muscles used during urination.

Other benefits of these exercises include:

– The prevention or reversal of urinary incontinence

– Avoidance or relief of the symptoms of uterine prolapse, in which the uterus actually drops down into the vagina

– Stoppage of leakage of stool

– Increased sexual pleasures.

You can practice kegel exercises while sitting on the toilet, lying down, or having a conversation over coffee in the coffee shop, and both men and women can benefit from practicing these exercises.

How to Use Kegel Exercises as a Natural Hemorrhoid Cure

– First, you must locate your pubococcygeal, muscle. This is a hammock-shaped muscle that runs from your pubic bone to your tailbone (also called the coccyx). Kegel exercises strengthen the pubococcygeal muscle.

How do you locate this muscle? The muscle that moves when you stop the flow of urine midstream when you are urinating is your pubococcygeal muscle.

If you can not voluntarily stop the urine flow it means that your pubococcygeal muscle is already weak and you will be able to identify the muscle via these steps:

– For women, you should stick two fingers inside your vagina then squeeze your vagina. The muscle you feel clamping down around your fingers is the pubococcygeal muscle.

– For men, you should insert your finger into your anus, then squeeze. The muscle you feel clamping down around your fingers is the pubococcygeal muscle.

After identifying this muscle you now proceed to the actual steps of the exercise:

– To practice your Kegel exercises, you simply need to voluntarily contract and relax this muscle alternately. It is as simply about contracting this same muscle for about 10 seconds. Once you contract the muscle start counting from, \”1 second, 2 seconds, . . . , 10 seconds\” slowly and clearly. Then, release. Relax for about 10-25 seconds , you should also count to yourself slowly, and then repeat.

It\’s very important that you relax in between contractions so that you do not strain the pubococcygeal muscle. You also don\’t want to overtax other muscles, such as your abdominals, when doing Kegels. So relax, don\’t be in a hurry, and breathe normally as you do your exercises.

Do these repetitions about 15 times. Build up your routine gradually until you can repeat these repetitions at least 3 to 4 times throughout the day.
Aim to do up to about 150 squeezes daily to get your pubococcygeal muscle to peak strength.

This exercise will increase and improve greatly blood circulation in this area which is key to the curing and prevention of hemorrhoids. This can also stop the growth of existing internal hemorrhoids.

If you already have hemorrhoids and are experiencing a flare-up, 15 repetitions may be too strenuous. Instead, contract the muscle for about 3 seconds (\”1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds\”), and then release it for 25 seconds. Start with 5 repetitions. Try to do them throughout the day. Gradually, build your way up to the 15 sets of repetitions.

As your pubococcygeal muscle grows stronger, you should aim to up the number of exercise repetitions to make your muscles stronger, so you should continue to increase the number of repetitions, but remember to relax in between squeezes.

If the muscle becomes sore during these practices, give yourself a break from them for a day or two. Over time, in as little as a month for some, this muscle will grow strong.
