Progressives view man as incapable of managing his own affairs without a Power Elite around that will show the underclass what to do.

In American politics the Progressive Movement peaked around a hundred years ago in a flurry of global finger wagging by American Liberals at the Bad Nations of Europe for squandering their birthright in a general war.

Millions killed to no purpose, nations thrown into war by the hissy fits of a tinpot German dictator, brigades of soldiers launched across open fields at machine guns…World War I was truly tailor made to illustrate the difference between the enlightened social “progress” of the New World versus the decadent, murderous folly of the Old.

However, that was then and this is now. After the SECOND time Europe propelled itself into the Killing Fields in 1939, and in the years since the SECOND time America bailed them out, Europeans in their guilt for permitting the slaughter of millions have smeared progressivism and multiculturalism across their continent like a thick paste of absolution aided by the politics of European Statism long after the need to protect borders atrophied and disappeared.

While never getting much play in America’s capitalistic society, the theory of big government and quasi-socialistic governance by a Power Elite known as Statism came to form the bedrock of European statehood.

Early on there may have been some justification. Citizens nervously eyeing each other across immense common borders waiting for a neighbor nation to start nibbling at them were all too ready to render up a few personal liberties if it meant avoiding becoming German. In that era this made a certain amount of practical sense.

However, they forgot Benjamin Franklin’s timeless warning, “Those who sacrifice liberty for safety…or maybe they never heard it in the first place. Today in the EU border guard shacks and customs sheds sit abandoned, for borders are a thing of the past. Yet Europeans still look to their nanny governments for virtually everything and this is unlikely to change. America\’s task is to avoid sliding down this seductive slope.

American Liberals adopted European Statism as their model even though America sits safe between vast oceans, and the prospect of invasion by either our northern or southern neighbor could get a laugh in any Comedy Club in the land. But Liberals continue to hawk the idea. Their reason? Power.

Liberals don’t really add anything to the sum of human knowledge, nor to defense, nor even to inventing a better trash compactor. All they can do is control and regulate and wag fingers and spend other people’s money.

Liberal/Progressives view the rest of the world as a wonderfully variegated pastiche of peoples, gorgeously multi-racial, inexpressibly rich in diverse cultures, a pageant of wise and urgent souls in caftans and ferouks, robes and business suits plying their trades, spinning their tales, sipping their coffees, nuancing their relationships in a sweet dance of reason, moving here and there through an emotional landscape of light and hope dispensing kindness to all, each earnestly seeking truth and happiness in a Global Village of peace.

Ah, so beautiful…a lovely vision indeed. Until Reality and the flow of free neutrons reminds us that some nations just want to have fun.

Unfortunately, some of us with scant humor for mushroom clouds in the morning are too insensitive to perceive how the Brotherhood of Man is ennobled by permitting psychotic dictators to convert their neighbors into pools of radioactive slag. We call them “rogue nations” and want them stopped. Cold.

But Liberal/Progressives simply don\’t care. In their world of situational ethics, where there is no moral compass of basic values against which to measure events, holding a nation responsible for its actions is unacceptable because it gives offense which might create conflict and that might lead to violence.

So when one of these Significantly Unapproachable Nationalistic Risk Takers begins to rattle the plutonium saber, the very most that will happen under Liberal diplomacy is they’ll be asked politely to stop.

And if they keep on, well…tut tut. If, despite urgent appeals to Rectitude, Decency and the Dignity of Man, one of these Troublingly Violence Prone Self-Actualizing National Enclaves should reach out and touch its neighbor with a kiloton or two, well, how could we deny their right to settle their differences by nuking each other back to the Stone Age as long as the debris field remains safely offshore?

Under this brand of tender, event-driven, Globalist analysis, American foreign policy has shifted from a strong counterforce against our sworn enemies to a series of sanctimonious wishes that these emerging nuclear nations should somehow…be good, and not…be bad.

For instance, our diplomatic initiatives concerning Iran’s incipient nuclear capability suggests that our finger wagging American do-gooders will join their European counterparts standing idly by right up to an Iranian Ground Zero in the Vienna suburbs.

Current intelligence credits the Iranian Air Force with an operational missile of only 2300 miles range; but never fear! The wonderful advances of the Iranian space program are already producing vehicles which, suitably tipped, could bring down the stern hand of a disapproving Allah all the way out to bad old Denmark who frivolously restricted Muslim immigration merely because they were trying to take over the government and force everybody into Sharia Law madness.

But what about those doughty Sub-National Freedom Fighters whom insensitive racist Americans insist on calling “terrorists?” What do American Liberal/Progressives have to say about these Distressingly Argumentative Hostage Takers who have no national borders and desire none, who slaughter Jews and Americans for Allah and occasionally just for fun?

Why…don’t be angry!

REACH OUT to these Bumptious Disempowered Islamic Strugglers exercising their right to show their displeasure with us.

SIT with them and help them realize that America was put into the world to fulfill their needs at the expense of her own.

EMBRACE them with our love for their strong will.

REWARD them with our abiding respect for a religion of peace that sanctifies killing anyone they wish.

EMPOWER them with our sorrowful acceptance of their need to kill us.

SHARE with them our pain for their somewhat dysfunctional yet dynamic and certainly understandable method of using American flesh to express their views.

JOIN them in their condemnation of America’s riches and of our selfish unwillingness to give it all away.

The thoughtful American will not journey very far down this road before beginning to suspect he’s being made a patsy, a sacrificial symbol to exalt the rest of the world at the expense of his own.

To die to preserve one’s homeland is a noble and honorable thing. To die to preserve members of an American Liberal/Progressive power elite who consider you their underclass is tragic.
