You can finish your artwork with great ease if you have the right tools to use. Metals are among the hardest materials that anyone can use as medium in expressing their artistic abilities. Metal art creation though is more expensive than using wood due to the tools and the metals used in creating an art work. But if you are still determined to get involved in this kind of art, you have to buy the right tools.

Some Cutting Tools
– Plasma cutters. These can be used to cut metals into fine cuts. These are the latest editions of torches available in the market.

– Acetylene torches. These are also called as blowtorches. They are important base tools, which can be used to create an artwork. These torches should always be found in your artwork kit.

– Chop saws. These can do the quickest job of cutting metals. However, they are quite messy so you need to clean your work area afterwards.

– Band saws. These are not always necessary in every stage of forming metals into an artwork, but they may come in handy at times. They are best used in making precision cuts if you are doing a critical artwork. They make a mess in the work are though because they use cutting fluid.

Prep Tools for the job
– Buffers. These are used to give metal art works some shine and texture. They work similar to a polishing chrome.

– Grinders. These are used to get rid of the parts in the metals that you do not like or need. Grinding is common in creating an artwork out of metals. Grinders are comparable to how a stone sculptor uses his chisel to create a shape out of the metals that you are using.

-Hand chipping tools. These are best used in the rough fabrication stage. They can be used to remove slag from the materials that you are working on. This slag is usually created after welding or plasma cutting. To create a good finish for the artwork, the slag should be removed.

Welding Tools
– TIG welders. These are used to combine two metal pieces together. In some cases, you may need to use a filler rod in combining metals. TIG welding tools are used to seal a seam between two pieces. These tools are usually used in stainless steel and aluminium welding.

– MIG welders. These are also called as wire feed welder, because they use a spool of wire to start welding metals together. They are mostly used in mild steel welding.
