Installing Sliding Doors

You should check the floor level. You can add shims if it is not levelled. You can check the gap between the head jamb and the doors to determine if it is even. You also need to take off all braces and clips to ensure your door will be working properly. The bottom is the first part to be installed. From the other side, you can caulk around the brick mould.

Removing Sliding Doors

Removing a sliding door requires patience and caution. You will need someone\’s help if the sliding door\’s weight is beyond what you can lift. You will also need to spread some padding on the floor. This will help you avoid damages on the floor especially if you are about to remove a sliding door made from glass. It is also a way of protecting your floor from scratches. Once the floor is ready, you can start gathering your materials. You will most likely need hammer, chisel, screwdrivers (Phillips and slotted) and pry bar. – The curtain should have the same length as the door\’s length
– The rod should be installed just above the highest point of the door
– You can have two layers of curtain – silk and sheer fabric – but you will also need two rods
