Regina Beach has been a family vacation tradition since the early 1900\’s. That\’s when holiday-goers first discovered its natural sand beach and sheltered swimming area. Today a whole new generation is discovering that a day at the beach is just the right medicine for our fast-paced world.
Imagine … a place that is close to the city but also close to nature! Imagine a community that has a \”back-to-basics\” lifestyle, full recreation, and not a very long drive to the city . Regina Beach, Buena Vista and Kinookimaw are nestled on the South Shore of Last Mountain Lake, in the Qu\’Appelle Valley, only 30 minutes northwest of the City of Regina.
A winter paradise … for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice fishing, skating and recreational activitie. Curling fans enjoy an indoor curling rink in the nearby town of Lumsden.
A Summertime dream … water sports of all types, including fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing, windsurfing and para-sailing. Last Mountain Lake has water of excellent quality, the lake is 70 miles long, 1.5 miles wide with depths up to 100 feet. Sailors consider this one of the best lakes in Canada. The south shore of long lake is a very popular resort and recreation site it features a long sandy beach, modern facilities, picnic areas with grills, grass, dining and a large public car park.
Our Community … has a fantastic 9-hole golf course, marina, boat launch, fishing pier, and a quaint sidewalk / bike path along the beach. During the summer months, population in our community jumps to nearly 7000 residents. More and more people are becoming year-round residents, while others choose to enjoy the summer and winter in warmer climates to the south.
The best of both worlds … Many families find they can enjoy all the comforts of nature and have only a short drive to work in the city. Population year around in Regina Beach, Buena Vista and Kinookimaw is about 1400 and the number of permanent residents is steadily rising. Our primary school (grades K – 8) is one of the best centers around it is very current and up to date. Students (grades 9 – 12) go to Lumsden which is nearby, just 15 minutes.
You\’ll soon discover that the property taxes are relatively low compared to the city and you get to enjoy all the benefits of a safe, small town environment. It \’a great place to raise a family.
