As soon as you have incapacitated your attacker, you need to run away for safety, find help, or report to the authorities. As long as you have that slim chance to get away, run for your life. You might not be able to get a better chance later on. Also, you might not be able to stop your attacker fully. Worse, you might get injured in the process.

Don\’t panic. You have every right to panic, but don\’t. Panicking will only make the situation worse for you. Even your attacker might become too anxious and do things that were not actually included in his plans, like to hurt you.

When you keep your cool, you will be able to think of the things that you can possibly do in order to stop the attack or in order to get out from it unscathed.

Stay strong. When you have been hit, knocked down or injured, you should not lose hope. If you are being tortured more, try to fight back as long as you can. But when it seems that your attacker is going to leave you alone, again, don\’t try to be a hero. You will be able to come out of that situation with fewer injuries if you remain realistic.

Surprise your attacker. In order to get away, surprise your attacker when there is an opportunity. For example, when someone wants to grab your bag and do what else to you, throw your bag at that person and run away as fast as you can.
