Car Body Styles : Which One is Best For You?

There are so many cars to select when it comes time to buy a new one; that can be a blessing or a hindrance depending on how you look at it? How do you figure out which car is right for you? A lot of it depends on your lifestyle. Let’s take a look at a few popular body styles.

If you have two or three kids you may be safe from the minivan but once you have around five kids you probably won’t have a choice but to drive a minivan. The main function of a minivan is to haul a lot of people around in a comfortable manner. Due to its size; minivans are not fast. Trust me, you won’t win any street races in this one. The only reason to drive one is if you have a large family. Other than that I can’t imagine anyone driving a minivan for its good looks or amenities.

The best-selling body style in America is the sedan due to its practicality; sedans come with four people. However, sedan’s aren’t just for families. Some people prefer the elongated look of a sedan and find coupes odd looking due to their smaller size. To each their own. These are generally for families or people who have passengers frequently. An example of a sedan is the Kia Optima; a mid-size sedan that is well known for its affordability with a standard 2.4 Liter four cylinder engine with 200 hp.

The coupe makes a great statement and they are my favorite style. Some people may find it impractical to have two-doors in your car but I find it empowering; it means that the only person I have to worry about is me and that is very powerful. It symbolizes freedom. I think convertibles are similar. They may be impractical for families but for those of us who don’t have plans for one, they are the epitome of being free like a bird.

An example of a sleek and sexy coupe is the Nissan 370Z; this car sports a ton of horsepower and is a blast to drive.

Now let’s talk trucks. Trucks are considered very “American” and remain popular despite the fact that their gas mileage is generally not so good. If you are the type of person who tows often the a truck would be a good option. Then again, some people never tow but simply like the looks of a truck.

SUV’s aren’t exactly efficient either but they appeal to both families and “active” individuals. One advantage that SUV’s offer is excellent visibility since you’re sitting up higher in a SUV than in a normal car. SUV’s are functional since they are bigger in size and therefore offer a lot more cargo room than a regular sedan. The Nissan Rogue; it’s an affordable compact SUV that is affordable yet stylish at the same time.

As consumers, having all of these options available is great because it allows us to choose the vehicle that is right for our lifestyle. No matter what type of vehicle body style you prefer, chances are that you will be able to find something to match your budget and needs. Happy shopping!
