However, one interesting fact that is rarely discussed is the way the name Havana came about. When the names of the six cigars are written as previously done, if the first letter of each cigar was written side by side, it would spell the name of one of Pete Johnson’s dogs, which was named Havana.

Upon first inspecting the Tatuaje Havana VI series of cigars, the dark and oily wrapper holds firm with a slight give if any. Furthermore, in keeping with the Havana tradition, these sticks also sport a triple cap that is perfectly placed and is just waiting to take to the heat.

A new addition called the Tatuaje Havana VI Exclusivo Verocu was added later on and has been described by Pete Johnson as the Havana VI on steroids. In essence, everything is the same except the appearance is different in that the wrapper is a Cafe Rosado Oscuro. It also has the same red Havana VI band with a distinguishing band that specifies the front mark as well.

Tatuaje Havana VI cigars are all handmade using a perfected entubado style of blending and rolling, which clusters the filler together in order to allow all aspects of the smoke to be tasted in a single draw. To elaborate, the robust blend of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobacco used makes for a smooth smoke with lovely aromas.

Before lighting these sticks, smooth, earthy tones with a touch of pepper make their way through to the somewhat tight draw. However, once setting fire, they really open up and produce a fair amount of smoke with a tangy spice.

As the smoke progresses, the spice subsides and the body begins to build, accompanied by a quick note of gingerbread and spice. Finally, nearing an end, the body continues to build, the spice resurfaces, and a strong nicotine kick can be expected.

Overall, the Havana VI series are a delicious line of cigars with an interesting history.
