Don\’t Let Limited Space Hinder Your Home Theater?
If you are living in a small apartment or simply don\’t have room for all the speakers needed for a home theater surround sound system don\’t despair. There is a solution for those that are tight on space but still want to have a great sounding home theater. One of the greatest things about it is that it can be setup in about 15 min.
Recently more and more home theater manufacturers have come out with what is called a sound bar. What is a sound bar you ask? A sound bar works just like a full surround sound system but it is contained in one single speaker bar. The sound bar is built to go right below your TV and has several sets of speakers inside of it. Each speaker set of speakers inside of the speaker bar are positioned to send the sound bouncing around the room in order to give you the same sound you would get from your rear, front, and center channel speakers in an ordinary home theater setup.
Because the sounds has to be bounced around the room in order to create the surround sound you are looking for a speaker bar is ideal for the smaller spaces such as an apartment or bedroom. If you have a big room you are looking to fill it will be difficult for the sound bar to give you the same surround sound affect and you should most likely consider a conventional home theater type setup.
A sound bar will normally come with a subwoofer as well. The subwoofer is a great compliment to the sound bar because the sound bar will deliver crisp clean sound in the mid to upper frequencies ranges but will be unable to reproduce the lower bass frequencies that the subwoofer specializes in. Even though the subwoofer can be a pretty large speaker it can be tucked away in a corner where it will not take much room. The reason that a subwoofer can be placed in the corner and does not matter which direction it is pointed is because a subwoofer puts out sound the is omni-directional. This means that the sound from the subwoofer is sent out in all directions unlike a regular speaker.
So, how hard is a speaker bar to setup? If you are not technically inclined you don\’t need to worry about it. A sound bar is quick and easy to setup. Most sound bars will require you to have a receiver but all of the speaker inputs are held conveniently in the back of the sound bar as well as it will be placed directly below you television so you will not have to run wires all around the room in order for it to work.
So don\’t sacrifice good quality sound just because you have limited space. The sound bar in combination with a good subwoofer will help bring your music and movies to life without taking up much room. So sit back and enjoy lifelike sound in any space.
