Arranging A Fundraiser For Your Non-Profit Organization

In this day and age, it can be a struggle to find the cash needed in order to function successfully. A great way to help your school or organization earn some extra money is to have a fundraiser. This money can be used to buy items, put on assemblies or even hire more personnel. There are many different fundraisers a group can choose from.

A very common way to raise money is to find a company that sells items through a catalog. These items vary greatly and can include anything from candy and nuts to candles and water bottles. The sellers can then pass around the catalog to friends and family. Many people feel a lot of pressure trying to make money this way, but the profits from the sales can be well worth it.

An oldie, but a goodie, is having a simple bake sale. The hardest part to this fundraiser is to get the actual items donated for the sale. You can hold the sale for how ever long you deem necessary. This can be a few hours or a few days. The items can be sold for literally pennies making it possible for everyone to buy something.

One of the more common ways to earn money for your group is to hold a car wash. In order to do this, your organization will find an available parking lot on which to hold the wash. Having access to a water supply is also a must. Another issue that can arise when going this route is making sure that you have enough workers to work the wash. Their are two options for making money during this fundraiser. Your group can charge a minimal fee for the service or you can offer a free wash and simply collect tips from the customers. It has been found that people can often be much more generous with their tip than they would have been if they were charged a specific fee.

Holding a special event and charging for admission can be another fund raising option. An organization can come up with a variety of fun affairs that can easily be held. For instance, a school might hold a movie night where it is only one dollar to enter. Many of these events can be held without spending a lot of money on the front side, making the profit margin much greater. However, remember that sometimes, one must spend some money in order to make money.

Many restaurants are now participating in fund raising events. A restaurant will designate a date where a percentage of all sales are donated to a specific organization. Working together, the group and business will agree about the percentage amount. This amount will range anywhere from five to twenty-five percent. This is a fairly easy event to help organize as it is held on only one day and it is over. There is no collecting, sorting or organizing of any kind required. Just eat and wait for the check to arrive.

Another more recent idea is the selling of food items. There are companies that sell items like pizza kits or even complete meals. A catalog is again used to peruse the various choices. However, the internet is another avenue to place orders. The companies will then deliver the food to your organization on a designated day. The buyers are then responsible for picking up the goods in a timely fashion ensuring freshness.

As you can see there are quite a variety of ways to help your school or organization make money. Holding a fundraiser can be fun for everyone involved if the proper planning is done. So don\’t sit back and complain about not having enough money. It is time to get up and do something about it.
