Pre-Night Jitters? Now What..Permanent Makeup

The Big Day is Tomorrow

So you went to the consultation for a permanent makeup procedure. You discuss your concerns, options, got a wealth of information, and came to a great resolution for your personal look. Everything sounds great, so you set your appointment. Two days before your procedure you have the permanent makeup jitters, So now what? You go online and search \”permanent makeup\” read all the articles and blogs that tell you \”why you need it\” but not one says how to care for your self the night before or how to deal with your pre j jitters. Sounds silly until you make a few seemingly innocent and typical daily routine choices and the next thing you know your in the middle or your procedure and it doesn\’t seem as though the topical numbing cream is working as well as it was suppose too. Ouch!! So now what? What went wrong?

Tina

Tina is a very nice woman in her 30\’s who wanted to have an eyeliner procedure done. We went over her concerns and options for desired look. I verbally went over the pre-care, what to expect and after care plans with her and then handed her the aftercare sheet that included all the spoken of info to take with her as a reminder. \”Sounds Great!!\” She said. Tina is a typical American woman. She is a single mom of 2 teenagers, works in an office Monday thru Friday and also moonlights a massage therapist. When the day of her procedure came she unfortunately broke every request she had agreed to do. Does that make her a bad person? Of course not… This is just the times we live in, Its hard to make time for ourselves anymore. Needless to say her eyeliner came out beautiful but her session wasn\’t as comfortable as it could have been. Why am I telling you this? Because beauty shouldn\’t have to be painful with a topical that numb the skin.

Bride To Be – Claudia.

Claudia is an energetic bride to be, who wanted to have a full lip procedure done before her wedding. At the consultation we went over her concerns and discussed her desired look. I verbally went over the pre-care instructions, what to expect, after care plans and then handed her the aftercare sheet that included all this info to take home as a instructions before her appointment. \”Sounds Great!!\” She said. Claudia is a very busy woman in her middle 20\’s, works in an office and is a planning wedding. When the day of her procedure came she broke 60% of the request she agreed to do. Needless to say her lips came out fabulous but her session wasn\’t as comfortable as it could have been. Lips are very sensitive and need the most attention in the before and after care instruction. But in the end they are so totally worth it!

Tidbit: I can honestly say this from my own experience with having a full lip permanent makeup procedure done, once at proper rest, second time done too soon after first procedure. Better to wait 6 weeks instead of the recommended 4 weeks.

What Went Wrong?

We\’ve forgotten how to put ourselves first when it comes to health. Not surprising since we live in hectic and demanding times. I love technology!! I love the fact I no longer have drive in my car to drop off a resume. I love the fact I can research a company online find myself a good fitting position and submit a resume and never pay a cent in gas or have to change out of my pj\’s to accomplish this. With that said, it has also, at the same time has put more demands on not only our daily work flow but also on our personal lives not to mention has also shortened and continues to shorten our professional and personal daily deadlines. Add the demands and rewards of a family, and It\’s easy to realize why most of the time were running on empty. Does this make us bad? No.. Not at all. We just live in very demanding and hectic times and just need to remember that every now and again.

So What Are The Pre-Care Instructions?

Tidbit: Even though I use very strong topicals the body still needs a few things to keep it self rested, balanced and happy.

– Get a goodnight\’s rest, at least 8 hours or more if needed. Don\’t be shy.

Tidbit: The body needs rest to stay balanced.

– Eat a lovely meal before your procedure, unfortunately a candy bar or a cup of coffee just prior to your permanent cosmetic procedure doesn\’t count. Your body needs to be able to balance it\’s sugar levels during your procedure. Having a meal of chicken and veggies or an apple with a salad is fine but try to eat no less then 2 hours before.

– Very Important Reschedule if your sick, having your period or really, really not feeling well. Your body and you won\’t like the extra stress of trying to stay balanced during a procedure.

– Please, do not participate in a rigorous workout before a procedure.

Tidbit: I made that mistake, I went to cross fit class 30 min. before my 2cd eyeliner procedure, what a huge mistake, first time I didn\’t feel anything, 2cd time truly sucked. Please don\’t make this mistake.

-Last but not least, please don\’t psych yourself out, its actually a pretty pleasant experience, but if you have stressful thoughts your mind will make your body tense up and you\’ll have unnecessary stress and discomfort with your body.

Not Too Bad..

And that’s It… . Make sure you attend to these request the day before, the day of and the day after your procedure to create optimal results and have a great experience all the way around. Almost forgot the best advise! Keep your mind on your desired results from your permanent makeup treatment and you\’ll wonder why you ever even had those pre night jitters.

Cheers
