How Acid Reflux Pain Changed My Life

Once upon a time acid reflux pain changed my life for the worse–nightmarishly, horribly bad. There was seldom a time of day and sometimes night that I wasn\’t thinking about my stomach, the heartburn and feeling that vurp creep up my throat. You know that bile and burp combined.

Gastric acid reflux and the associated pain ruled my life. It cast a shadow over my activities and affected relationships. While I was normally a happy, outgoing person, I became more and more depressed and inactive. I just didn\’t have the energy because of the acid reflux indigestion—it was draining me.

My face looked tense and my whole body seemed to be trying to help my stomach, chest and throat. The acid reflux pain even woke me when I slept. It seemed my constant taskmaster. It seemed I would never be able to stop the acid reflux pain.

That Was Then; This Is Now

Acid reflux pain no longer rules me or my life. I can\’t tell you how happy it makes me to tell you this!! I am back to my cheerful, active self. I can usually run circles around people ten years younger than me, I have so much energy. I have also lost weight, my concentration is sharp and my skin looks and feels younger without gastric acid reflux.

How did this happen? I chose an acid reflux alternative treatment instead of the drugs the doctors tried to convince me to take. You see, my dad had this same disease, acid reflux indigestion, 35 years ago and the doctors pumped him full of drugs—many of which have since been removed from the market because they have actually proved more harmful to people than the gastric acid reflux.

The Bread of Life

My answer to finding health and vitality again came in a way that I thought I\’d never be able to live with. I learned that the root cause of the acid reflux pain was something called Celiac disease—-which sounds pretty scary, right?

One in 230 people cannot digest a protein found in grains called gluten. These are the figures at this time but the doctors that study Celiac think that it\’s more like one in 100 because some people think their symptoms are due to something else, not Celiac.

What this means is I live a life style of not eating breads, pastas, sauces, anything unless it\’s made gluten free. As long as I follow this plan I feel awesome and have few bouts, if any, with gastric acid reflux!! But WHOA! to me if I decide to eat it \”just this once\” . . . the acid reflux indigestion shows up again.

But this gluten free diet is good. Why, because my body is allergic to this protein and turns against itself. Celiac is an autoimmune disease. So now that I know this, it is easier for me to choose life and eat only the yummy gluten free foods that are so abundant now.

How Bad Do You Want It?

It seems that the answer to any challenge only comes when we are truly ready. For me, I got sick and tired of being sick and tired! The life style and diet change was hard for me to swallow but I am so thankful now. The quality of my life is 100% better than it has been in many years.

The joys of living life without acid reflux pain are many and I am thankful every day. So, how about you? Are you ready to feel vital health again? How bad do you want it? I wish you happiness on your road to health without acid reflux indigestion.
