Paleo Diet Fitted Into A Modern Lifestyle

Our approach to the Paleo Diet is for those people who desire to have all the health and fitness benefits of natural food, yet also enjoy winding down occasionally to enjoy their favourite foods, drinks and social life. It is for those people who haven\’t been able to maintain a diet previously because of their lifestyle, which is also causing damage to their health. With this approach you can still enjoy your modern lifestyle, yet also achieve your fitness goals and massively invest in your health for the future. However this approach is not for everyone, which can be read about at Is This Diet For You.

Cheat to Maintain

Simply put there are 2 different days with this approach to dieting…

Diet Days – On these days we eat a Paleo Diet which allows us to achieve our health and fitness goals whilst realising the unwavering energy this diet gives us compared to…

Cheat Days – This day we use Intended Indulgence to enjoy our favourite foods and drinks (anything you want). This allows us to satisfy our cravings, savour modern day creations (cupcakes), and enjoy our social lives (alcohol). Getting into a habit of using Cheat Days successfully, will allow you to maintain your diet for life. It removes the thing that many diets put on beginners…

Restriction

Many diets restrict beginners of the lifestyle they have become accustomed to. They consist of strict plans created by nutritionists who don’t enjoy the same things in life we do. They attempt to turn us into sheep to achieve weight loss which many of us in our culture couldn\’t comprehend. If you are one of the people who enjoy letting loose now and again, then their diet approaches are setting you up for a lifetime of Yo Yo dieting. You need an approach that will suit your lifestyle, allowing you to achieve all your health and fitness goals, whilst incorporating the foods and drinks that you enjoy and are part of your social life.

Test it for Yourself

By initially learning what the most natural, beneficial diet is to achieve your weight loss and fitness goals, you can then fit it into your modern day lifestyle to continue to enjoy all your favourite foods, drinks and social life.

Natural foods are also known as Paleo foods. Many people achieve all their health and fitness goals by eating a strict Paleo Diet. However many people could never consider implementing a Paleo Diet in their modern life. Therefore with this approach, all you have to do is test it out for the first few initial days and then can go back to your old ways on Cheat Day. You can then make a clear distinction between the unwavering, fresh energy you experience on Diet Days, compared to how you feel when indulging on Cheat Day.

Clean, Lean Ancestors

Paleo is short for Paleolithic, which is an era when our Stone Age ancestors knocked about, drawing on caves, battling sabre toothed tigers, and eating foods that were natural resources of the earth. It is replicating their diets that has been a fairly recent phenomenon, and has led to much research and popularity.

Bread, pasta, rice, donuts, additives and many other modern day foods were not available in the wild and are therefore not allowed on this diet. Our fit, lean Stone Age ancestors ate the natural foods available to them. Those foods provide all the proteins, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and natural fats that your body will thrive on, with nothing causing you unnecessary damage. According to unexciting research, modern day diseases were rare, and getting fat was even rarer. Those cave men and women were lean, and naturally had the physiques that many of us desire today. However, it is true we are now worlds apart and a lot has changed since then.

On a practical level, a paleo diet is very similar to all the low carb diets that are being introduced to the dieting world these days. Low carb diets allow people to achieve their weight loss goals, however some methods also incorporate foods which aren’t beneficial to the human body. We are not going to include these foods on Diet Days, as we want to experience the true benefits of a nutritious, paleo diet and then compare this feeling to Cheat Days… It\’s all about giving people a chance to learn for themselves, and then after that Cheat Day they are able to make a clearer decision.

Best of Both Worlds

Those cave men and women led very different lives than we do today. Many people who attempt to replicate their natural lifestyle will feel as though they are missing out on so much (cupcakes and beer.) Our ancestors had to worry about finding food to eat in order to survive. Nowadays survival is something most of us don’t need to consider and we therefore have the luxury of enjoying the modern day pleasures of our choice.

This culture is the result of many changes since the Paleolithic era. It all started around ten thousand years ago when humans developed agriculture. This allowed us to settle and create a new way of life. We developed education, religion, art, science, medicine and sports. We became individuals, with our own taste and own way of life. With all these changes we also transformed our diets and created a drinking culture woooo. Unfortunately many of us are not in control of this, and it is therefore causing damage to our health and physiques.

We could change this by going back to basics with a paleo diet, however eating like a sheep doesn’t appeal to many people nowadays and why would it? Modern foods taste a lot better and have an enjoyable comforting effect. You have so many more opportunities and the freedom to indulge in your own preferences. You exist in the modern world and have your own tastes, so what’s the point in going back to a Stone Age diet?

Well the point is you can now have the best of both worlds. With this approach you can have all the health benefits of a paleo eater whilst still savouring your favourite modern day foods, drinks and lifestyle, which make you who you are. There are countless benefits to a paleo diet which can now be enjoyed in the modern world…
