If this is done too early, there is a risk that the implant will be pushed out of position as it has not had ample time to grow into the bone.

Unlike natural teeth, they cannot develop cavities but do still need to be cared for in the usual manner such as brushing, flossing and the like. Occasionally if proper oral hygiene isn\’t adhered to a condition known as \”peri-implantitis\” may occur involving inflammation of the gum and bone tissue around the implant. This is more commonly seen in smokers, it is best to avoid smoking if possible prior to and after surgery.

People who have lost a tooth or teeth should really consider dental implants; as long as they are installed carefully, they offer the next best thing to a natural tooth and can be permanent if cared for correctly.
