Work Your Abs: Ab Workouts
When we see athletes, gym buffs, actors and many others with perfectly defined abs, we sometimes wish we also have one. Lie on your back on the floor with your hand on your chest or lightly touching your temples. Don’t put it behind your neck as it can cause strain on the muscles on your nape. Bend your knees and slowly lift your upper torso reaching for your knees using only your abdominal muscles. Remember to not lift your entire back as this might give you back pains in long run. Rest for a second on top and slowly lie down without your head touching the floor. Do this repetitively as many times as you can.
– Leg lifts – this is also a proven way on how to get six pack abs but this exercise targets your lower abdominal muscles. Crunches help your upper abdomen but you can’t forget your lower abdomen as well. Lie on your back on the floor again with your legs straight out and your hands stretched on your sides. Slowly life your legs up until you form a 90 degree angle without bending your knees. Leave it upright for a couple of seconds and slowly put your legs down without touching the floor. Do this repetitively as many times as you want also.
– Static holds – this can be very difficult especially for beginners but this is also one of the best workouts you can give your abs. Put yourself in a push-up position with your elbows on the floor supporting your upper body. Hold this position for as long as you can but for beginners, 45 seconds should do. This exercise trains your core muscles to be stronger and firmer. Do this repetitively as well and as many times as you want.
These three ab workouts are sure exercises that can help you achieve the abs that you have always dreamt of having. Accompanied by proper diet and some cardio workouts, you can have that perfect abs in no time.
