The one thing I hear over and over again about texting girls is that somewhere along the line the communication goes south for the winter.

Somewhere along the line, the girl either drops the text thread and ignores you, or else something crops up that is a misunderstanding because obviously texting is a written language and therefore it is difficult to convey tone, sarcasm, emotion, and mood.

For instance, recently, a guy complained that he didn’t text a girlfriend for three whole days and she basically dumped him for it.

I think there are several problems inherent in this dilemma.

First, it appears by the information given in this situation that the primary mode of communication between this couple is by texting. That was the first mistake the guy made. Texting should only be used as supplementary form of contact. In other words, you use it to complement the other ways you communicate as a couple, namely in person verbally and secondly, verbally by phone.

It almost seems as if this entire relationship took place over text. And then when the texting stopped, the woman started to feel neglected and ran for the hills.

So, the first way to solve this problem is to prevent it from happening in the first place. Make sure that you use texting in the following ways:

– As a way to arrange a meeting in person. This is the number one most valuable use of texting. It is the primary reason you should be texting a girl. Remember that the goal of texting is not actually texting itself, but it is a TOOL to set up a meeting in person. Keep texting in its place – as a tool, not as a primary mean of communication with a girl.

– When calling on the phone is not feasible. There are times when you are both busy or live far away and it is easiest to communicate briefly by texting. You keep it short and sweet, and again, it is only a stopgap measure until you can speak in person.

– To escalate attraction. You can also use texting very subtly and very sparingly to build attraction. For instance, you can send a woman a text on the afternoon before you are meeting saying something seductive, such as “Can’t wait to see your beautiful body tonight in that dancing dress.” Or whatever you would say to match your style. In this case, you briefly use texting to create anticipation toward the meeting.

So, if you look at the three ways to use texting you will see they all have one goal in common – the meeting in person. Keep your relationship off the phone and in the bedroom.

If you really want to wow her, don’t fall into the texting games and then your relationship won’t rely on whether you remember to send her a text or not. What it should rely on is the effort you make to spend time with her and texting is just the tool to make that happen.
