Zino Platinum Scepter Review
The Zino Platinum Scepter cigar is available in one size which is a robusto 5.25 by 50. The availability of this cigar is limited with only about 1000 tins of 10 cigars each reported to be left in the United States.
Cigars do not come with more quality than this line. These cigars were clearly designed for aficionados who demand best premium cigars.
These cigars are all blended by Hanky Kellner, a renowned master blender. They are produced at the Tabadom Factory in the Dominican Republic. This cigar leaves nothing to be desired.
Pre-Light
The wrapper on the Zino Platinum Scepter can best be described as being rather rustic looking. Some aficionados may argue that cigars with a rustic wrapper aren’t very appealing, but this offering from Zino makes it work.
By pairing the rustic look with a regal band, it is very appealing to the eye. Upon smelling the wrapper, you quickly detect a hint cocoa and a fruity aroma that is a tad bit sweet.
The cold draw is very satisfying. Many reviewers were happy with the draw because it was looser, which naturally allows the cigar to produce a great deal of smoke without extended effort.
First Third
The initial draws on the Zino Platinum Scepter delivers many varieties of flavors that burst forth at once. Many reviewers reported that they had difficulty distinguishing between the flavors but all agreed that there was a peppery note followed by a touch of sweetness. The sweetness is described as being that which you would encounter from something like caramel, stressing that the sweetness is not overpowering.
Toward the end of the first third, the bold sweet pepper taste remains with some woodsy flavors as well. This cigar is characterized as being very creamy. The body of the cigar, to this point, is medium to high medium.
Second Third
The second third of the Zino Platinum Scepter finds that the body is still more of a medium body paired with a great deal of flavor. The woodsy and peppery taste still remains yet it’s not quite as strong as before. The sweetness still remains.
Final Third
Finishing out the final third of the Zino Platinum Scepter, many reviewers find that the cigar is in the full range of being full bodied but not overpowering. The taste at the end was mostly woodsy, and all of the other flavors seemed to go away.
The woodsy notes were very powerful. The nicotine was noticeable and gave the final third a bit of a bitter taste, yet enjoyable just the same.
The cigar was also a very long lasting cigar and held its ash well. It also burned evenly throughout.
As is traditional of all Davidoff cigars, the Zino Platinum line is rolled with perfection and wrapped and bound with precision. The smoke is plentiful and has a creamy aromatic note to it. The tobaccos are all aged independently of the role they play within the cigar whether it is the wrapper, filler, or binder.
