Tips For Getting Six Packs
Gone are the days when people wanted to workout and do hardcore exercising for a fit body. These days it is for the ‘six packs’ or the surfboard abs as they are popular known. Six packs have now become a benchmark for fitness. Most often, it is the personal trainer who faces a lot of difficulty in devising the right kind of workout routines, for his clients who want to develop their six packs.
Six packs are not six different muscles but just one large piece of muscle (abdominal muscle) which when toned gives you those six packs. Therefore, you must work all portions of your abdominal muscle as this strengthens your back muscles as well. This is like laying the foundation for a proper six-pack body.
So, let’s look at some things that you can keep in mind while aiming for those fab – abs.
The outer support
While signing up for boot camp workouts to build six packs is a good idea, you should also remember these tips that can add to the overall results of your workout.
Cardios and weights are good workouts initially, because cardio exercises take care of the overall muscles while you focus on your abs and weight training retains the muscle mass in your system, which is essential to build upon.
Using the stability ball is another excellent method because working out on the stability ball gives you a lot more balance and even a simple set of ab crunches can work miraculously on your ab muscles.
Crunches are the first step in ab exercises, but do remember to bring in variety often. By doing many crunches in one set, you tend to tire your ab muscles and the effect begins to wear off. On the other hand, alternating between crunches and reverse crunches or twists can offer a 360 degree workout for the abs. Most importantly, crunches aren’t about the head meeting the knee, it is about ‘crunching’ your ab muscles. So don’t just life your back and neck, but crunch your abdomen for better results.
The Inner support
While you have a good workout plan at hand, you should keep an eye on your diet as well. It is important to make sure that when you begin your workout regime you get enough proteins into your system as you will use up more energy to burn the proteins. You could try breaking your meals into several smaller meals throughout the day. This way, you hardly feel hungry.
You also need to make sure that you consume as much water as possible. Water helps in building muscles, which in turn give you a firm shape. While you workout, you tend to sweat a lot and with which some of the essential salts in your body get washed away. You can replenish this with green tea, fresh fruit juices or sports drinks which are rich in body salts like potassium.
So, with these basic factors in mind, you should be able to begin your journey towards perfect six packs and an overall healthy body.
