Cat Health And Raw Diets

Cats are actually hygiene-conscious animals. The constant cleaning or washing with their tongues is the indication of their daily grooming. For cat breeds with long hair, it is helpful to use a comb when brushing them. Also, use talcum powder to dry clean their fur. Regular grooming will minimize hair loss and hair balls.

Cat claws should be kept short to minimize scratching injuries and damages to household furniture. When clipping the claws, make sure not to forget the inner surface of the front feet. When it comes to bathing, be sure to wrap your cat in a towel after bath. You can also use a blow to ease up the drying.

Cats are not really picky pets. They don’t necessarily need special beds. A cat will find a place suitable to its needs if given a choice. They will appreciate soft boxes or cat beds to lie on. Ideally, cat beds should be placed in dark, quiet corner of a closet or basement. There are five types of cat beds. These are:

1. Wicker baskets

2. Plastic baskets

3. Donut cat beds

4. Cat hammocks

5. Cat igloo beds

Some pet cats follow their owner like a puppy. They will hop on their owner’s lap whenever he is seated for a period of time. A cat carrier is a great help when you are taking your pet cat with you on a travel. There are three basic types of cat carriers according to materials used. These are:

1. Cardboard carrier

2. Soft carrier

3. Hard carrier

When it comes to feeding, cats are carnivores. Thousands of years ago, cats are not domesticated. They battle survival by feeding on raw diets in the wild. They eat small animals in their entirety. This provides the high protein and high calorie diet they need. Adult cats require 20% protein in their diet. Also fresh water should be given to cat at all times.

Unlike humans, cats’ stomachs are highly acidic. Data show that most wild cats died from severe injuries rather than food poisoning. Raw diets of cats usually consist of birds, small mammals, insects, snakes and other reptiles, fish and other types of rodents. They also like chicken. liver, kidney, heart and muscle meats. However, cat owners still need to keep an eye on their pet’s diet.

When feeding your cat, make sure that the meat you are about to give is warm and fresh. Cats are not fan of frozen foods. To keep the meat warm simply means you have to defrost it the night before. Do not use the microwave to defrost the meat since it will cook the it from the inside. Food can be served in shallow or flat dishes. The meat should be in bite size if possible because cats do not want their food to stick on their noses.

Like humans, cat’s health is dependent on their food and hygiene. Bathe them regularly and keep their dishes clean. In case you are too busy enough to prepare a balanced diet for your cat; raw diet is a good way to supplement its nutrition.
