Know How to Use Your Loyalty Cards

With so many companies vying for our custom, they now give out bonuses to regular customers. The benefits of loyalty cards, tokens and vouchers you can acquire in this way are enormous. As long as you are aware of what is available they are a great way to save money or afford a special treat.

Supermarkets and garages are great places to collect points or vouchers to give you money off further purchases. This can be from that company or a selected choice of others. Garages in particular will often give vouchers that can be spent at other places, or can be collected to get money off future fuel purchases. At some places you can get cheaper, special offer goods if you buy a certain amount of fuel.

Sometimes multiple businesses will club together to give the same type of reward bonuses. These are usually collected on a credit card type medium and can be traded whilst purchasing goods from selected suppliers. The vouchers or points have a monetary value which can be used to reduce later spending.Fuel companies may do this so that you can collect points at any of their fuel outlets.

This idea is by no means limited to a small sector of the market. Many on line sites give reward points which you can spend towards further purchases too. Again they may have their own schemes or be part of some of the larger schemes which give wider choice, even air travel. Even some utility companies give these generic reward points.

Loyalty schemes have been a round for many years. Initially you collected stamps to stick into books which could then be redeemed for items from a catalogue. Cigarettes used to have vouchers in their packets when it was more in vogue to smoke, and again they were redeemed for items from a catalogue.

Now everything is much more modern and high tech. Points can now be collected electronically onto cards the size of credit cards. The records are kept on a central computer. This then allows you to also collect the same points when buying on line.

The rewards may translate to money off vouchers to spend at certain selected places, or to use off your next fuel bill. In some cases these are turned into vouchers of a certain value, when a certain amount of points are reached. Some companies send out monetary vouchers, monthly or bimonthly, of anything above a minimum value. Then again other companies leave the points to accumulate, allowing you to use them against the cost of much larger items of your choice.

Over the years the benefits of loyalty cards have been appreciated by many generations. They are a great way to save money or get yourself or someone else a treat. They have stood the test of time proving popular with all kinds of people and will be with us for many years to come. By subscribing to these reward systems you can save a fair amount of money in a year.
