Exercise Facts You Should Know
Do you remember the first day you started to workout and the various things your friends and family told you about exercises and workouts? There are certain exercise basics that are building blocks to a perfect understanding of the right kind of exercise for you.
#1. Exercise is an overall process
The common belief is that by doing ‘area-specific’ exercises you can reduce weight at desired places. For example, doing crunches over and over again is not going to result in a well shaped tummy. Exercise is a holistic process. When you do that, you set the whole body into a fitness mode. Eventually, you would see that not just your tummy, but your entire body feels fit and in shape.
#2 Exercise is for everyone
Exercise is not a diet that has to be followed by only a select few who want to shed extra pounds. A skinny person may choose to exercise in order to add some structure to his lean frame. Anyone can workout within their capacity to keep themselves fit. Therefore, even if you weigh right and feel healthy, it isn’t wrong to workout regularly. This just makes your body tune itself into being fit always.
#3. Weights do not make you bulky
‘Weights’ seems like a heavy term but has its own role in toning your body. Therefore, when your personal trainer asks you to start lifting weights, don’t panic. Simply choose weights that you can lift five to six times without much strain. If you were to lift weights at least thrice a week, the chances of you losing a greater amount of body fat is higher. In addition to this, weights also improve the metabolic rate in your body which also results fat loss.
#4. Take a break
Some people believe that when you begin to workout, you must do so throughout the week and spend at least a couple of hours at the gym. Not true. If you wish to exercise on a regular basis, it is enough if you work out thrice a day for a minimum time of 20 minutes. This way, your body doesn’t fall out of touch and the 20 minutes are good enough to recharge your batteries.
#5 Pain doesn’t mean its right
If you have been working out for a while and feel this uncomfortable pain crop up, then there is a possibility that some part of that workout isn’t suiting you. Inform your personal trainer immediately for he may have an alternative and less painful routine to suit your body. Remember, everyone isn’t the same and so not every workout has to suit you the way it has suited someone else.
