O oh … it’s nearly time for the New Year’s Resolution thing again. How did that time come around so fast!? What happened to the year? ….and more importantly, what happened to my good intentions; my promise to myself? Have I actually achieved what I whispered to myself on that special night; the one night of the year when we acknowledge our desires for a better future and know it is the right time to start; to begin anew; to turn over a new leaf and to just get it right this time!

It all sounded so good last time as I announced my New Year’s Resolution to me albeit very quietly. I could really envision myself achieving those things that are most likely on many peoples’ minds, in some form or other throughout the year, and especially on New Year’s Eve: More Time to spend with family and friends; Financial Freedom to go on holidays and travel to those exotic locations shown on the TV shows; buy a better car, maybe a much better car; and of course not forgetting the Good Health. Ughh! I really need to do some exercise; lose a few kilos; get rid of that belly.

In hindsight, we all have 20:20 vision. My last New Year\’s Resolution really turned out to be more of a wish than a promise. \’What is the point of having a New Year’s Resolution\’, I say to myself, knowing that I’ll probably do exactly the same thing again this time round … and next; knowing people will ask ‘have you made your New Year’s Resolution yet?’ Get real! Who doesn’t just dream about those things and more?

It’s easy to say ‘I’ll start tomorrow’. Then that nasty Mr Procrastination creeps in! I know I can’t or, more precisely, won’t do it on my own. And I guess that is the key. Why won’t I do what I have to do to be successful? What am I scared of? Maybe I don’t want to be disappointed. I don’t want to feel disappointed in myself.

Then I saw the ad. It was on a social media website – in fact it was Facebook. I’d only recently set up the account, hardly used it let alone answer advertisements BUT this one caught my eye … AND I WANTED WHAT THEY HAD. I submitted my details and received a call from a real person … WOW! My new friend was so excited when he told me about the group he had found; like-mind people who not only want those same things as me, but who also walked the talk to TAKE ACTION NOW; to do whatever it takes to make those things happen. People, just like you and me, who create an extra-ordinary life for themselves AND help others do the same.
