1. Blueberries. These tiny little munchable treats are definitely one of the best things you can put in your body. They are chock full of antioxidants and are some of the best “brain food” out there. Try them on top of some yogurt and add a little sprinkle of granola. Or make a smoothie with them. Throw them in a green salad with a little blue cheese and walnuts for a special lunchtime treat.

2. Greek Yogurt. The best and most healthy way to eat this is by purchasing the plain, whole fat. People who are watching their weight don’t need to stress out about buying the whole fat container as long as they eat it in small amounts. About one-half a cup of this yogurt, each day will keep you healthy. Along with eating it with the blueberries mentioned above (as Dr. Mehmet Oz eats it – minus granola), you can also use it with some chopped garlic, some mint or dill and some cucumber as a Mediterranean sauce or dip. Either way it is delicious. Also, some people use those same ingredients to make a cold cucumber soup.

3. Walnuts and other nuts. These are a great way to get the good fat in your body and to stave off your hunger. The trick is to treat them like you do the whole fat yogurt and eat in moderation.

6. Whole Oats. Eating your oatmeal on the days you don’t have yogurt is a great plan. This is a natural way to lower your bad cholesterol and tastes good. You can eat it as a hot cereal for variety, but the best way to do it is to make some granola with the oats. Then add those to your daily yogurt with blueberries and you are set. Just think how much good you’ve done your body by the time breakfast is over?
