Workout With a Friend For Maximum Weight Loss Results
Losing weight can be much harder than you expect. Everyone puts on weight at some point in their lives and most people keep it with them till they die. There might be dozens of weight reduction methods being bandied about in the market. But, none of them works like the good old fashioned ‘run in the park’. You already knew that, didn’t you? But, taking time off from a hectic day to put in that vital bit of exercise is a test of your motivation and commitment.
You need a buddy!
Yes, there are some things best done as a team and working out regularly is one of them. The thought of having someone familiar and friendly accompany you every time you have to exercise is a good enough motivational tool. And, it is even better if the buddy in question also shares the same weight issues as you do. It can be a mutual quality check as you walk, run or exercise your way to fitness. No one can ever be objective enough about their own weight and frame. A buddy on the other hand provides the required reality check.
What a buddy can do for you!
The initial days of a fitness regime are often the toughest. People are not used to the exertion; schedules are just too tight to accommodate the extra activity and the temptation to land on the couch is overwhelming. But, when there is someone who knows that you have a scheduled workout session, it is not that easy to back out; especially if you are supposed to workout together. Your buddy can coax and goad you out of that couch and onto the park. It is a proven fact that we tend to be more committed towards personal goals if we have declared them to someone close to us. Having a workout buddy, especially for outdoor fitness activities, is an application of that thought.
A buddy brings competition!
No one likes to lose, no one likes to be left behind; no one likes to look weak and old, especially in front of friends. You will be surprised at how much more motivated you are to push yourself just to keep up with your buddy, to make sure that you do not give up before he does. Having a workout buddy is creating positive pressure on your performance at an outdoor fitness activity.
One with the buddy!
There are certain exercises best done with a buddy helping you to maintain the right posture. This is a strong recommendation for all beginners. You can return the favor to your buddy too. Attempting certain exercises on your own might give you a sprained muscle and a long forced break from your fitness regime; starting over will not be easy. So, take your buddy along and be safe.
Post-workout monitoring!
The workout is done. You are tired, thirsty and hungry. All that you want is to grab a burger, fries and a shake! You can have them, but all the benefits of the workout will be washed down with the shake. Take a buddy along and you will see that the shake turns to orange juice. Or at least, you end up sharing the shake; lesser damage to an already bulging frame.
So, what are you waiting for? Draw up a timetable, call your dear friend or even your son, a colleague or anyone you can trust, put them on it and go lose those extra pounds. Happy weight loss!
