Are You Taking Omega 3 Supplements? Here Are Some Reasons to Consider These Awesome Vitamins!
Have you been hearing all the buzz about Omega 3 Vitamins? I know I have hearing a lot about them. Omega 3s were recommended to my better half by her dooctor, when she was pregnant with our first born. After thart, she started to harp on me quite a bit about taking them. I have to admit I was confused at first. I did a little reading, but I still was not too sure about them. So I decided to ask my Chiropractor, and this is what he told me.
Omega 3 fatty acids have come into the nutritional spotlight lately for a number of reasons. They are a part of a group called Essential Fatty Acids. They are essential for certain aspects of human physiology, but the body is unable to manufacture these Fatty Acids through your everyday diet. Without sufficient amounts, there are many things that will go wrong with our health. What’s making matters worses is the reality that these Omega 3s really are difficult to source in our modern diet. Fish, walnuts, hempseeds, krill and algae are very good sources. Things we all eat daily, right? Beef can be a pretty good source as long as the cattle were grass fed, which is rare and relatively expensive today, if it is readily available. Another problem is the prevalence of fish farming, where Omega 3 quality is really questionable due to what the fish are fed, which most of the time does not reflect their natural diet. Because of these Fatty Acids and their lack of presence in our daily diet, Omega 3 supplementation is a really good strategy for getting the right amounts of these crticial fats.
The positive effect of Omega 3s in cardiovascular health is very well documented. Omegas have been proven to help by lowering cholesterol and high blood pressure, acting as a blood thinner and keeping the heart beating steady. DHA, commonly found in Omega 3 Supplements, is now recommended for a healthy pregnancy. Babies are more likely to go the full term and have healthier weight, and better brain development. Pregnant Females may also be less likely to get post-partum depression. Omega 3 Supplements produce an anti-inflammatory effect, as well. Many patients with back pain no longer use ibuprofen or other pain medication due to supplementing with Omega 3 every day.
More and more Chiropractic Offices carry an Omega Supplement that has been put through a process to remove impurities like mercury, dioxin and PCBs. This is more important than the supplements themselves. It is so important that many chiropractic centers recommend skipping a supplement rather than take one with impurities like the ones mentioned above.
One way to start is to learn some more. I recommend that you schedule a consultative appointment. A Chiropractic Care Center will help you find the best way to incorporate these important nutrients into your wellness plan.
Hopefully, you are beginning to understand more with regard to the importance of these Vitamins. To learn more about Omega 3s, please contact your Chiropractor.
