Is Barack Obama a One Term President?
History doesn’t look too kindly on one-term Presidents. The likes of George Bush Sr, Jimmy Carter, William Taft and Herbert Hoover. They are looked about as a failure which is why they weren’t re-elected. Is Barack Obama heading down this path?
It is hard to even imagine that the question is asked. He was elected with such fanfare and enthusiasm but most of the hype has faded. Many of his promises have been broken and he has struggled to deal with a lot of issues. His popularity has plummeted and people are wondering what all the excitement was about?
Polls have shown that people are unhappy with his management of the economy, foreign policy and his health care reform. They say he makes too many excuses and doesn’t try hard enough to fix things. Everything he tries seems to be half-hearted. There were his attempts at health care reform which many people didn’t like. Take the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. He was too slow to respond and then his response wasn’t measured enough.
People aren’t happy with the state of the economy. True he inherited much of the situation from the previous administration but that doesn’t mean he can treat it like an online casino. People feel that the government bailing out all of these companies is akin to someone playing at an online casino and asking it for more money when they run out.
Why should the little people be treated differently from the big? Why should the haves receive even more beneficial treatment than the have-nots? Isn’t the Democratic party meant to focus on the little people? It seems as though they have forgotten about those who helped get them elected.
Foreign Policy is another big issue. It is a bit of a double-edged sword as many Americans want the domestic scene to be improved before he focuses on other parts of the world but still it is widely accepted that the American President is going to be a big player on the global scene. People feel that America could be doing better in both Afghanistan and Iraq. They also think that Obama and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton have made a mess of the situation in the Middle East.
The question of Obama’s future also comes down to the Republicans. They need to be able to put up a viable alternate candidate to Obama. If they can’t do that, then Obama could get a free ride during the 2012 election. A fresh, new candidate could really make a difference and create a serious choice.
This lack of choice has been an issue in previous elections. This is why George Bush ran over the top of John Kerry and Bill Clinton did so to Bob Dole. It doesn’t matter how bad the President is you just can’t put up anyone to run against them. So the Republicans will be hoping that Cialis Jelly they can find someone between Kamagra jelly now and then.
