We are living in the modern times, surrounded with digital technology and the demands of a highly complicated lifestyle. We often submit to these demands, and we tend to compromise our personal health and fitness. Quality is a very important thing one could get from life. So a good quality of life is sometimes taken for granted because we succumb to the daily pressure of the modern days. Getting back on track is as easy as 1-2-3 when we are pretty serious about turning a new leaf. Good health combined with fitness is the perfect formula for happiness. And happiness can only be achieved if we maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle.
Fitness is only as important as having good health. Eating a balanced diet followed by a good exercise is the exact combination that best describes how it is to be perfectly fit. Our body is our only medium and temple. We will never function well in anything if we are weak and unable, so caring for this medium is a must. Here are a few tips on how to maintain a good health while living in the so-called modern times.
Eat a balanced diet. Think about the basic Go, Grow and Glow foods. It is highly recommended to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, foods that are rich in fiber to help with our metabolism, and foods that give us good protein (such as fish and lean meats). Try not to skip meals but do count your calorie intake. Always remember, too much of one thing is always a bad thing.
Reduce Stress. Mental health is only as important as physical health. Mental fitness is also very necessary. The demands of our career are quite inevitable, so try to engage in activities that will increase your mental capability in dealing with stress. There is always yoga and meditation.
Exercise. This is the factor that most of us tend to neglect. We’d rather watch television for more than 2 hours than do a 30-minute exercise. What we don’t know is that exercise is the ultimate key to fitness and health. If you think it would take much of your time because you’re very busy, a simple walk or climb on stairs would do. In between hours of your work, you could always do some stretching. That alone could already contribute as a stress reliever.
Enough Sleep. Although we make time for exercise and eating proper foods, relaxing and getting enough sleep is also a must. A good night sleep is priceless, and could never be traded with anything. At least 8 hours of sleep is important.
Staying fit and healthy will always bring out good results, and that is a guarantee. There are time that it will take a while for you to achieve your goals with regards to health and fitness, but rest assured it will be worth all the wait and sacrifices. It is not a complicated process, as long we are serious towards living a happy life.
