You probably wouldn\’t think of using cookies to make any kind of beverage but the Oreo Cookie is particularly good for this. Here are three completely different drinks that use Oreo Cookies to great effect. You can enjoy these all year round though as you will see, some are perfect for summer while some are great for winter!

Oreo Peanut Butter Milkshake

This one is ideal for the kids and perfect for summer. Not only that, it has the added benefit of including peanut butter in there, which is an American staple these days.

What You\’ll Need

1 cup of milk

3 cups of vanilla ice cream, softened

1/3 cup of Creamy Peanut Butter

8 Oreo Cookies

1 teaspoon of vanilla

4 fresh strawberries, halved

What To Do

1) Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth

2) Pour into appropriate glasses

3) Top with the strawberries

Yes, that\’s really it! Simple, fast and sure to keep the kids quiet for a little while.

Oreo Mint Cocoa

The name itself sounds absolutely delicious and the drink is even better. This is a rather upmarket way of serving Oreo Cookies, perfect for dinner parties as an example.

What You\’ll Need

10 Oreo Cookies, coarsely chopped

3 cups of milk

1/2 cup of chocolate syrup

1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract

What To Do

1) Blend all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth

2) Transfer the mixture to a saucepan big enough

3) Heat gently, stirring often, until thoroughly warmed through to the desired temperature

4) Pour into glass or other suitable mugs

Very sophisticated, very tasty and very easy to do. Your party guests will love you for it and will be very impressed when you tell them it was made using Oreos!

Spiced Hot Chocolate Mug

This is the ideal drink for winter, especially around Christmas time. You\’ll have plenty of Oreos in stock and there\’s nothing like sitting around a roaring fire sipping a hot chocolate while the snow falls outside the window.

What You\’ll Need

1 cup of milk

1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1 square of Semi-Sweet Chocolate, finely chopped

2 Oreo Cookies

What To Do

1) Bring the milk and cinnamon to the boil on a medium to high heat

2) Add the chocolate to the saucepan and beat with a whisk until melted and the milk is frothy

3) Pour into mugs and serve with a couple of Oreo Cookies on the side

Yes, ok, we cheated slightly with that one, but you can\’t argue with the fact that an Oreo Cookie goes great with a up of hot chocolate, especially one spiced up with a bit of cinnamon.

There are literally hundreds of ways to use an Oreo Cookie in the making of interesting and delicious drinks, including a variety of milkshakes, more hot drinks (either on the side or included IN the recipe!) and even coolers. And of course they lend themselves well to making food too!

One more tip – don\’t try to add alcohol to these drinks (except the spiced hot chocolate perhaps…) – they do not taste good!
