Mistakes You Cannot Make During A Violent Confrontation

Sometimes choosing to survive and be safe is better than winning a battle. You should not always think about your pride most especially if you are facing a violent confrontation. You need to do whatever it takes for you to get out of that confrontation safe and unharmed. With that, here are mistakes that you CANNOT make during a violent confrontation:

1. Letting your anger take you over – the very first thing that you should avoid is allowing your anger to win you over. Of course, it is very frustrating to be in the middle of heated confrontation but you should make sure to control your anger. You should find a better way to handle the situation.

2. Thinking about fair battle -another common mistake of people faced in a violent confrontation is thinking that the person he is dealing with is fair. You should always watch your back because who knows if there are other people who could attack you from behind. Life is not a fair so there is no way that you should think that your attacker is being fair with you.

3. Thinking that you are safe even if you are not – positive thinking is good but not if you are in a very heated and violent confrontation. For example, you are with a group of friends or your family when this group of people started to act violently. You could calm your friends or family down but not to the point of saying that, you are safe even if you know clearly that you are not. Saying to them that you are safe and that there is nothing to worry about could make them feel complacent that could even put your lives in danger. Therefore, the best thing to do is to be realistic.

4. Showing compassion – you should never show compassion or pity to the attackers. Why? Well, being compassionate could make you lose your battle.

5. Losing control – you should always keep your composure and level-headedness intact. This way, you will be able to find ways to get out of the situation. You will not be able to think clearly if you are being filled with too much emotion so control yourself the best way you can.

6. Doubting yourself – it is not good to doubt yourself either. It will not help you if you will continuously think that you cannot fight the attackers and that you cannot find a way to get out of the situation. You should make sure to believe in yourself.

7. Thinking too highly of yourself – however, it is also not healthy to think too highly of yourself. Of course, it is good to be confident but not overly confident. When there is an opportunity to run away like for example when the attackers are down or hurt then go ahead. Do not try to finish the battle just for the sake of your pride.

You should not allow yourself to be in any of those situations when you are facing a dangerous confrontation.

It is very important to stay out of trouble but if trouble finds you then you must do everything to keep you and your people safe. This does not necessarily mean fighting the opponent to death but more on defending yourself for safety.

It is advisable to carry with you self-defense weapons like stun gun, taser or pepper spray so you could defend yourself from attackers.
