When you are starting an online business, either for the first time or tenth, you have certain needs. The obvious thing is something to sell, so I will not bother you with that. There are thousands of items or services out there so just find something you are comfortable with. Here are the four most important things I have found that make for success.

Support: You have to have someone that is at least an E-mail away. The support team does not need to be there 24/7 but 6 days a week will be fine. It should never be more than 24 hours to get an answer. You will always have a question and an E-mail should do it.

Website: If you buy it, build it, acquire it or steal it you need a Website. You say you will use Social Media, great. Then Facebook, Twitter, etc. will be your sites. The Website is your platform and you have to have one.

Name Control: Yes you can sell someone else’s product but from your platform. You can even use their site but you need the control of the name. It will cost you $15.00 annually for a .com name and it is worth a hundred in peace of mind.

Payment Control: Money is a touchy issue. Click Bank uses checks and then direct deposits. You can select how often you get paid. I like PayPal because I see the money right away. There are many different sources to use. The important thing is that the account is in your name and the money is deposited within 24 hours of sale.

Now there are a lot of other things to look for and most are common sense. Do you like the product? Is the product useful? Does the product have a season? Etc, etc. You get the idea. If you take those 4 main needs and think about them, your online business will be secure. Think about it this way. You will have all your bases covered.

First, if you have any problems you can shoot off an E-mail and it will be solved. Second, if you have some form of platform or website you will have a home to count on. Third, if you have Name Control you literally own the place. I mean what are you going to do firer yourself? And the home run is you are going to get paid for your effort.

If you are either looking for a business or building one just jot down these four items: Support, Website, Name Control and Payment Control. As you think about the business check off the items. If it meets those standards then use your common sense for the rest of the process. If you like the business or your idea than go for it. But go for it if all your bases are covered. That means you have SWNP….Support, Website, Name Control and Payment Control. As you can see simplicity is the key to on-line success.
